And don't forget the hookers. They're not easy to smuggle in either. Of course... not that I'd... umm... ever know that.

Oh, my young friend in the end....one way or another, we all pay for it.

back on topic...

i think the original message makes a good suggestion... why not have a /maskscent like skill that works for NPCs that smugglers have?

that would definitely make the profession more "smugglery".

We've actually suggested that...That idea got kicked around a lot by us during the hell of the Imperial Letdown, amongst other times.

I said that months ago, it would be a mask tef for overts and a mask tracking for us (if we ever get on the BH terms) and jedi. It would be a 15min mask, enough time to slip away. So as to not over powerthe skillit would only work once an hour and if your enemy was close you would still be attackable. In other words a tef'd or overt player would look like a blue dot to the enemy but if the enemy was sharp enough he could still figure out the ploy and attack, making us have to hide our titles (so as not to give the trick away) and truly smuggle people. For jedi it gives them time to get a BH off thier backs, this way we could smuggle players both jedi and faction. if I were not so lazy i would go find the original post, i think it was called "tying it all together"

And they are the most important Smugglers of all... Can't tell you how I looked forward to the special packages that came when I was deployed. Thanks to the military postal service, it usually took sending 3 packages before one would get through.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

but why something so complicated? why not just have it work exactly like mask scent does on creatures? it only affects NPCs... not anything to do with tef's, factions or anything.. just a way to sneak around stormtroopers, corsec, nym or whatever.....

Becuasemost (if not all) Smugglerswant to smuggle real players as well as missions/quest to smuggle cargo. Its really not all that complicated, push for the big idea's we are getting a full re-vamp (some time in the next 36yrs) who cares about NPC's it's not player smuggling.

*drinking beer since the age of 16*

I was in the US when I was 20, it is quite funny when they asked for an ID and I showed them my Service License from the German Airforce. Confused them totally. The birthdate is is only shown in the ID-number.

If that didn't work my father just ordered 2 beers

And I usually live near the border to the Netherlands...

I have smuggled, err "tobacco" into clubs/concerts, to my house from the...err "store" on an airplane (personal use only and pre-rolled, errr "cigarette" for the airplane). Funerals and family functions (there is always that Uncle in everyone's family who is very happy to share your, "cigatette" with ya.) For personal use and in low quantitys I've smuggled "tobacco" into and out of many, many places.

Hmm.. while we're on the topic, I'm thinking we should probably get smuggling bonuses by consuming Vasarian brandy, Jawa beer, Mandalorian wine, etc. I found it was many times easier to smuggle open containers of beer via subway between various NYC boroughs when we were already under the influence. We even had a name for our contraband: "train beer."

Sadly, most of the contents were lost in transit.
