Okay, how's this for some RAMPANT speculation:

Why was FD changed now? In preparation for smuggler bounties. This would also explain Wes and Caylin's rather hardline stance that FD was never intended for PVP, as FD clearly needed to be changed before we get on the BH terms.

But, then, we'd need to be able to do something to get us on the BH terms in the first place..

but we also need to be able to defend ourselves, and unless you get master pistoleer and some speed tapes, thats a pretty damn difficult proposition. our specials being what they are.

personally, i think feign was meant to be used with bh bounties, but it was broken and so it wouldnt break combat, nor show us as 'corpse of...', so they decided to make it appear as it was never intended to be used for pvp.
they just keep quiet about that part of feign.

dont even go into the 'id go put 2947163 more shots into their head to make sure' bs. thats not a valid arguement. you cant do it to npcs, you cant do it after you db someone. sure, in reality you would but this is a game, get over it.
im going to be that no one who plays this game is a bounty hunter. bounty hunters get paid to bring them in alive, thus negating your argument further.

feign still doesnt break aggro with mobs, which i dont see as right. if i run off 250m or so during combat, aggro ends, but they run off 1km while im feigned and it wont break??
just cant be right.

everything is speculation until it shows up in the patch notes.
they could be giving us some new specials or skill mods to make us better fighters but considering the way smuggler is CONSISTANTLY REFERRED TO AS A NON-COMBAT PROFESSION, thats seems like a 'wish in one hand...' type proposition to me.

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

And why do they have to make us wait for the freakin' announcement anyway? If he knew something when he made the tease post, he should have just made the announcement already.

We all know that SOE is a corporation, or at least part of one. They have everything planned out on a schedule and in procedures. If you're stuck in a cubicle (like I am *groan*) you should know that the procedure is much more important than things like logic.

Oh, I'm in a cubicle, but luckily I work for a company that actually cares somewhat about their customers...

EDIT: Not fair, SoE is trying to make the game better for everyone, but sometimes they really need to work on their PR and CS. That's what I meant...

I'm betting its going to be something like:

"Spices will now cause and immediate downer. Spices were never actually intended to be useful, and this fix brings them more fully in line with the intended design. "

...but they'll include a smilie ... so it will be all good.

No, I think they will cause wounds. Pop a moun and a few minutes later your mind-stats are toast.

Entertainers will love it.

They did say non-combat professions were going to get worked on way back in Jan and we are non-combat so its not unreasonable to think that aside from what our specials do (math wise) we could be getting that long over due re-vamp (I know, I know Im being overly optimistic). I only say this because of how "over the top" silent Wes has been on this FD issue. If he is this quit on such a damaging issue in our community I would like to think it's because something uber good is going to be droped on us have he can't give it away or even hint at it. Guess we will have to wait and see....

as much as I hate to say this I think you are being overly optomistic, as I seem to recall them saying we wouldn't get our revamp until after the CURB ( I could be mistaken though) but they do need to do something positive though as this constant stream of nerfs just isn't fair and now with the stomach being empty after thirty minutes selling spices is going to be even harder as brandy and canapes are going to be even more effective

What they said was they were going to start re-vamping non-combat professions while CU is in testing. This and Wes being so silentis why I feel it might be our re-vamp. /shrug

Actually, I think we're going to get a new schematic for a set of bone chance cubes.

Snazzy.

If I remember correctly, Wes said something about having something important due this week...

But both he and Caylin are being rather diplomatic about everything lately.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Umm...and we'd also need something to SMUGGLE? Otherwise just what would be the point of bounties?

didnt really think i needed to cover that as it seems to be spoken of quite frequently, but yes, you are correct.

im willing to bet tht slicing somewhere other than in the basement of a player-owned building (5km from any other pc building), set to private, with the lights turned way down and a blanket over your head will be enough to get you visibility.
maybe even any slicing anywhere period will grant visibility.
but thats my pessimist side talking.

Stawei,

I really doubt it I'm afraid. I'd find it pretty amazing if they spent the effort on anything like that.

I may, I may not; for what I do know, there is more that I do not. Or something..

Basically, for now, no, but I might do. I'm sure that's cleared that up for everybody.
