I know it's stupid....but I love it when they hate on roleplayers. I know Matticus gets angry but I just laugh my butt off.

I enjoy it, but I rarely get the chance because I meet so few roleplayers, and none of my guild or city roleplay. Besides, I enjoy OOC talk and joking about the game. I indulge myself insmall wayslike putting illegal things in my yacht into a hidden area (the forward section from the turret room is blocked off by bookcases, and the rebel stuff I have is on display in the round room past it). Most of my "roleplay" is in the form of writing (the link in my sigincludes my stories so far, "Life Day" is the latest and the one I'm most proud of). But because I rarely roleplay in-game, I'd say it balances aout to an average 5.

Kinda makes me laugh too. I find it interesting that in a MMORPG people make fun of the people that roleplay. Just seems ironic.

The situation: I've been dragged into Theed(I like to stay out of planetary capitals). I'm walking out(yes walking, as opposed to how everyone runs about). When a guy shows up before me.
Guy: "Hey, slice my rifle."
Jaecob(Me): "Slicing is illegal, and I wouldn't want to get in trouble, especially with all the authorities around here."
Guy: "Just slice it."
Jaecob: "As I said, that's illegal."
Guy: "But you a reb."
Jaecob: "That's a dangerous accusation to throw around, especially considering the political climate we're in."
Guy: "You show up as reb on my radar."
Jaecob: "Funny, I don't see you carrying a radar." *Storm Trooper walks by* "Have a good day!" *wave to Trooper*
*Guy runs over and kills the Trooper*
Guy: "Now slice it."
Jaecob: "I think I'd best be going."
*Two Imperials run up and attack Guy*
Jaecob: "Thanks, he was wanting me to make some illegal modifications to his gear."
Imperial #1: "No problem, just trying to keep the Galaxy safe."
Its great when you run into this situation.

Just thought I'd add a little something in my experience. Recently, the Devs broke the tier 4 mission that is the second to last before the master missions. I am so incredibly frustrated by it that I can't even bring myself to RP when I log in, it's just discussions about this stupid mission.
Anyone come across a situation where they're just so angry/frustrated by the game they just can't get into character?

Never... i just take out my little bomb droid and blow something up... always makes me feel better.

I play a smuggler as well, wearing a Rogue title, however, which I feel descripes my type of play style more than certain other ones. I don't actively try to roleplay in a hardcore sense, but do try to avoid certain catch phrases, or I twist wording around. I don't "slice" weapons, I provide "operational upgrades." I don't "slice" containers, I provide a "lost key service." And lastly, I don't make "spices," I consider myself a reasonably priced "pharmacutical manufacturer."
Granted, that's all just talk, but I have been able to make a tidy profit being the go-to guy when it comes to certain rare, extinct, and valuable resources that may have otherwise been unobtainable to many people, for a small... "finders fee," of course, and have been known to do the same with many older styles of weapons. I don't run around in full composite, I normally wear just my duster, some boots, pants, and a long sleeve shirt, the epitome of what I imagined a rogue or vigilante from days gone by. I love my DE-10 and my krayted DL44 metal pistol, those are my peacemakers, and are always by my side, but looking at my toon one doesn't get the impression that I'm a walking arsenal. That's the way I always felt it should be portrayed.
Anyways, smuggler's a fun class, though there's times when I'm amidst a pvp battle that I don't feel like acting as if in a story. But when it comes down to it, I try and play my part. Whether it's upgrading a rifle for friend's guildie, or finding that unobtainable ore for a weapon component, enhancing an acquaintance's new helmet, or locating that long-extinct yavinian fiberplast for a medic, I have my own way of going about things that I wouldn't change for anyone.
Edit: Oh yeah, almost forgot.... I consider myself about a 7 normally, although at times, when I'm on a roll, a 10 isn't out of the question. Now.... back to the lan party that's been goin on for the last 5 days straight.

I was a rogue, until someone accused me of fixing a raffle, and now I'm a fixer . Bet part is, I've turned it into my character, and I get people things, and "fix" situations.
I've also realized, Even when I'm not RPing, I'm usually in character, in that I will make deals with people that I might not like. I recently grouped with a member of GANK, to our mutual benefit, despite my total loathing of said guild and all it stands for. There are a few people I will not deal with at all though.
