AFK grinding is so gauche as to not even be worth mentioning.

Just buy crates of combat knifes (I sell these at 2500 a crate) and there you go.

not afk ifyou are slicing weapons as they come in. Anyway, I did this through slicing 3 and 4 and also gotdirty fighting I at the same time. Not to mention about 15 +1 or +2 skill tapes, and about 8 adhesives so I thought others might be interested in this as opposed to buying 20 crates of knives and sitting in a house slicing them.

I play my Smuggler as slightly arrogant and proud of her skills. But on the other hand I never misleaded anyone by bragging about usign only 99%+ quality tools. If someone ask "why are you the best" I will answer some RP things like "Because I am. Experience, nimble fingers, and a lot of work" or something like that, I won't say "because I use top quality ressources when making my tools".

I am NOT saying you are doing that Mojo, btw. I am just saying that there ARE ways to play an arrogant rogue without misleading the players.

As for prefering to use the services of a particular Master Smuggler, there can be other reasons.

It might be loyalty, or just plain superstision. (that one is so lucky everytime she slice for me she get high slices! I will ask her again!) Or trust issue: I had a client yesterday who was actually the good friend of a WS I am under contract with. He asked his friend for a trusted smuggler because he had some very costly weapons to slice and he didn't wanted to risk being stolen by asking some random stranger at the Cnet starport. (not that it happen often, a Smuggler who would stole clients would end up without slicing jobs fast, but he was feeling more comfy knowing I was dealing regularly with his friend.)

The most I ever did was 14 crates in one sitting. It was about as mind numbing as I thought it would be. Oh, but the bank was soooo full afterwards.

kudos for a job well done.

Jeeze,

Your bulk slicing at 10k per pop?!?

I charge 10k when I slice for the public. And get cursed at for charging too much. No way am I going to drop my prices now.

Just curious but are there really still players out there that think some Master Smugglers slice better than others? Especially over 2,000 of them?

I mean I do get customers that claim I slice "great" and they'll come back to me over and over again but I just figure they're being nice and don't really believe there is a difference.

oohhhh yeah there are...

what's worse is that there are smugglers still out there who hurt our cause by claiming to be the "best" slicer or some other gimmick just to get more business for themselves.

some is player ignorance, some is our own kind stabbing us in the back.

And some is those of us that actually roleplay an egotistical rogue.

Mojo KNOWS he is the best. He KNOWS there are a few other top notch (not as top as him of course) and then there are "those others" out there, who are nobodies.

That is not the same as me, the players view.

This is something you need to consider before you say that it is bad form to say otherwise. All IMHO

i am considering that....and i dont count roleplayers since they usually make the distinction in one form or another. but, there are players who both roleplaying and out of character advertise themselves as better then other Master Smugglers when it comes to slicing.
