It doesn't have to be immediately. Also, this is for a group, you'll likely have people with snares, roots, skills that slow attack speeds, and other such abilities. Aye, but dont forget, after the Mez wears off.. they are all after YOU.. you can then try to applyAoE root.. given its not on the same timer as the Daze/ROOT effect from Concussion Shot, Aoe Snare or KD.. or FD and hope that it doesnt fails.. hehe


In PvP situations its kinda different. If your group got the first mez thru? Kill the enemy Mezzer.. them their healers.

KD was never meant to be a big move, it was just so you could do more damage to your target and delay them for a few seconds. Concussion, on the other hand, was DESIGNED to be able to stop people and/or groups of people en mass. It's one of the few skills that makes smugglers coveted. Now, unless you have some type of insanely organized group, concussion becomes practically useless, you'll slow someone down for a few seconds and then they'll pop back up and kick your arse.-Which would urge you to use caution in such a situation, would it not?

Now you're thinking tactically. Its never the best idea to take that Master Rifleman out if they have a Combat Medic or Smuggler in thier group. Always go for who you believe to be the most dangerous first; however, danger doesn't always mean the most hard-hitting.

I mostly do.


But here in SWG it might not be that easy to identify you worst enemy. Dabbling and such makes it hard to find out who is what and such. Knowledge about the enemytemplates will most likely have ahuge part in over coming the enemy group.

from what i read the root from concusion would still hold for its normal amount of time, its the daze affect that breaks when you attack. So just leg it to your max weapon range and blast away till root wears off, then apply a fresh one. you may geta fresh daze or it may resist the daze but still get rooted, thats if i understand the patch notes right from TC

Hmm according to the june 24th tc patch notes............


Smuggler



  • Overwhelming Shot should now fire correctly

  • Panic shot's Daze effect now works (Daze effects break on damage)

  • Concussion shot is now a root + a Daze (Daze effects break on damage)

  • Some slices now require components that drop in various locations throughout the game world.



So from these patch notes the Root WILL still hold and only the Daze will break. If it is wrong then someone needs to update the tc patch notes as this is shown on the current build

Yea.. i know. Blixtev mentioned later also that those "fixes" will not be included in the next publish. More likely in Publish 20 or 21.

makes you wonder why they were ever put in to test now or even mentioned in the patch notes if we're looking at maybe 4 weeks before
seeing these changes.


Oh well all we can do is wait and see on tuesday

no, no... the timers are supposed to go in patch 20-21... the changes to our specials are going in patch 19. They realized that chain-mezz was an issue but they don't have time to fix it right now - afaik. I could be mistaken.

Nah. You are correct. Only the timer will be fixed in patch 20 or 21. I'm not even sure if there is a need for it- but there you go.


Blixtev said they couldn't have it where one effect would stick and the other break. They have to break together.


That is why you have Panic Shot.


And I will have to see how effective Restraining shot is again since I haven't used it in quite some time.

Dude! Restraining shot SUCKS. At least NSs seem to walk through it like water. /shrug. Might have to invest in pistoleer after all.

they realy just need to remove the daze from concusion and make it a good root with a reaplication timer on it


and then buff up panic shot as a daze


we dont need a daze+root


and a daze
