Thread: NOTHING effects slicing! It is RANDOM. There are no hidden patterns nor changes to the system!

I'd charge this guy a hundred million credits a slice or clamp and I'd recommend any other smuggler to do the same.
Just because that is the way I operate.
wait, caylin are you trying to tell me that tool quality has no effect on the slice? What about hawtpants? HAVE you told them about that trick?! HA

How about trying to slice without using a clamp hm? I do that occasionally when I'm too lazy to make a clamp, on mission terminals of course. Oh and hawtpants doesn't work. It's wearing an exotic leotard. A black one to be specific ![]()

Sorry Caylin.
/Ushers Xang back to Flurry where we use padded gloves to beat him down
Uncle Xang is kinda to the point where we wink, smile, let him go on his way. He has smashed all weaponsmiths and smuggler on Flurry and made them cry. Don't mess with him, cuz he has master survey skill and only uses the best resources to make his weapons andalso makes millions of credits each day running janta missions.

Well, work's been killer lately, but I've managed to get the first half of the tests done. The results can be found here. In order for the tests to indicate that tool quality matters, P must be less than 0.05. As you can see from the right-most column, P is not less than 0.05. That means that the sample of slice results taken using 15% tool and that taken using 97.7% tools represent the same overal population, and that differences are the result of pure chance. In other words, for armor, tool quality does not make any difference. I'll get the statistics for weapons up as soon as I recover from pulling 40.5 hours of overtime over the past two weeks and, y'know, actually have a weekend to unwind during.
P.S. The bottom-most row displays actual range (lowest percent-highest percent) and mean rounded to the nearest whole number just to give y'all an idea of what results I was getting at a glance, rather than having to read through all of the individual results.
Edit: Fixed a typo in the URL

Bah...you can prove anything with statistics ![]()
ok, for the record ... I believe GM.
Just saw the statistics post and thought about all the stats classes (undergrad and now grad school).

No, I don't speak Hindi really - know a few words and phrases : ) I'm just a par desi who fell in love with a nice Mumbai writer a few years back. I do make a mean Moong Methi and I studied Bharata Natyam for years, so I guess I'm an honorary member of "Team Brown" (heheh as affectionately known in my medical residency)...
Seena
ps - The use of "mirchi" was meant as the adjective - "spicy", not the noun - "pepper". : )
Ah, mirchi does mean chilli, indeed. I think the correct term for spicy would be 'tayz'.However, when you stick a 'kali' in front of it, the meaning is taken as black pepper. ![]()
Im originally Iranian from my father's side, though my mother is a pure Indian from Bombay. I really cant cook for a toffee, Indian or otherwise, and im a pretty good dancer but quit due to religious reasons.
Picked up the language from my maid eons ago when i was a child and had to learn the names of certain food items to survive, for she didnt know a word of English, Arabic or Persian...It was either learn how to say 'Gimme food, you beyotch' in Hindi, or die of malnutrition.
Nice to hear about your significant other. Has he authored any articles/books i may have heard of?
