Thread: A chuckle for the smuggler
My favorite is from WAAAAY back..back when tusken garb was the **edit**e..and a tusken rifle was the coolest thing ever.
A bit over 20 of us gather in Espa, led by an unnamed leader, who is aspiring to be a sandperson apparently (it was pretty common then.) We all link up (into two groups, there was a bit over 20 here.)
We run the LONG 15 minute jog on foot (3 of us were aspiring commandos, who had no clue that Explore would make life easier..the good ol' days hehe) and finally reach the fort. All goes well, get a couple snipers, and even a pair of raiders down, only lose 2 guys. So..we figure is all cool...
Then, our fearless 9and fairly mindless) leader decides we're going in....we should have had a clue with the constant /shouts that he needs a bandoleir..and yes, that is infact all he needed, I still don't know what he looked like. Just a sandperson. Well..ALL of us being noobs (game hadn't been up a week yet) we decide ok...
to sum it up, in the FIRST room in the caves...he sees all the sandpeople, and goes APE. Running everywhere shouting for a bandoleer...While the doormen respawn, and the ones in the room...He is screaming he needs a bandoleer, while we proceed to take the short route back to Espa. This was ALL while they had corpse runs...sooo....
We all went back to Fort Tusken....
*edit* this went on for the WHOLE day, I finally called my brand new 8K cdefpistol a loss, and stayed home.

And THAT is the line that dates you...lol.
OK, so this is a new one for me. After my little episode of getting beaten on while AFK, I've been very cautious while selling faction points. Apparently even heavily guarded faction bases are dangerous. So when i get a tell from a known PVP nut of the opposing faction, telling me to come to the rebel outpost on Rori so he and 6 of his friends can switch sides, I naturally laughed at him and told him to fly a kite. He persisted, and my curiosity got the best of me.
I land at the outpost to see seven members of DREAD, a rather well known pvp guild who has tricked players into getting killed on more than one occasion, including me when i was newer and oh so much more trusting. For those of you who arent on bloodfin or never met Slawface Haxxxxxxx, he is one of the more violent elites on the server.
I tap my feign death macro and explain to them that i need the money up front to buy faction. amazingly they all agreed, paid me, and I did the scariest thing that I have done yet in the game. I declare in the middle of this bunch of hardcore reb killers and begin delegating them enough faction to turn rebel, all the while expecting a declared group member to come roaring into town to start the beating. I am never quite sure of who all my personal enemies are, as the lines of kinship and brotherly ties are invisible, and up until the last delegation I was positive this was an elaborate ruse to get me to declare.
After spending an hour delegating out faction, with my bloodpressure shooting through the roof, they finally all were declared rebels. I couldn't believe it. Not even a joking /duel challenge. I had lived! They really had gone rebel so they could get more PVP in. The kicker to the story is that 20 minutes later I flew to anchorhead, still declared, to sell a full set of marine armor to someone. Not 5 minutes into it, an imperial member of DREAD hits town, and as i am the only one declared, he jumps me. Fortunately that trusty feign death macro is running, so instead of killing me he can only pound. I am still grouped with the 7 other members of Dread, and I ask em if they wouldnt mind knocking him off me. Instead, they send him a tell to leave me to my business, and he leaves anchorhead entirely.
I guess sometimes it does pay to trust people. Either way, im gonna go have a heart attack now.
I just have to say that I am new to the game, only been playing for a month or so, and I just recently made Novise Smuggler. I loved all the slicing stories, and I can say that when I get there, I will just charge a flat rate.
I spent the last few days reading this thread, savoring and laughing the whole time. Unfortunatly, I don't have any stories of my own, yet. When I get some, I will be sure to post them here.
i just earn my master scout title. althought i had my novice scout title up and was buring off a field base camp will waiting for some friends when a noob showed up
noob: why doesnt this tent have a mission terminal?
me: No tent have mission terminals, this and the high teck base have crafting station.
noob: no the a camp with a mission terminal in it i want to grab some new mission.
me : sorry but No camp has mission terminal. just food and weapon crafting station.
noob: your wrong! your not a ranger the big camp have a mission terminal
at this put i disbanded my camp and throw up a hi tech field base and ask the noob to show me the mission terminal.
noob: this isnt a master ranger camp .
how that
Ok, this one isnt about slicing or selling spices, but it does involve a smugglers skill and noobs.
I prefer not to PvP, as most players seem to foster hard feelings about it. That is bad for my business, and I am here for credits only until the space expansion hits. However, last night my skills as a master smuggler/master gunfighter were tested pretty much by accident on my part.
I had just finished sellingfaction points and wanted to work on my unarmed as i climb the TKA tree to my tripple crown. I fly on out to Fort Tusken and am getting ready to group up when the fight music starts. I cant figure out why because I am outside the fort and as far as I knew no tuskens were aggrod on me. I start to move around when all of the sudden a flamethrower jet hits me for a sad ammount of damage. I am fully buffed, so im not worried about the wounds bothering me yet. The fire only ticks once and then goes out, and i still havent located my assailant.
Around the side of the fort I see 4 covert imperials that i can target, and I realize the commando that just flamed me must have been their declared member. I pop off panic shot in their direction, delaying all 5. I then fanshot them several times, wiping out their ham bars and killing two. They must have still been on their 3rd incap timer. I decide to let the other three live, so i walk over to them and politely tell them that I do not like to PvP and to please leave me alone. I get a tell from the leader of the group, appologizing for attacking me and saying they wont do itagain. If only I could figure out how to take a screenshot with my stupid laptop.
I tell you, I have never had a more satisfying moment in this game. And the fear of smugglers shall spread.
