I've already said this, the poll is flawed. Whilst I agree with A and voted A, this does not help our problem of not having actual smuggling in the game, we're simply trying to rain on someone elses parade cause we aren't getting any love ourselves.

Why make others suffer cause we already are? Are we that petty?

Okay, then Veela, then how about a contraband system that makes us necessary and not a hard lined, coded "Off" switch. I'M a merchant. I'M a smuggler. You wanna invalidate half of that for me? Why do we need a hard coded off switch? Why not a system of risk vs. reward? Action vs. Consequence?

I'm a Smuggler/Merchant as well, and I'm sorry, but I'd rather see contraband where it belongs (in the hands of Smugglers) as opposed to on every vendor I frickin' look at.

I am 100% against Smugglers being able to have vendors. Now, am I against Smugglers being able to SLICE Merchant-dropped vendors, in order to be able to sell contraband on them? No.

The point of this thread is to pick option A or B. If you want to choose option C, go make a thread about it.

Its been ridiculous and gone to ridiculous lengths. There is no good reason in my book that being a smuggler should autorequire being a weaponsmith/armorsmith or vice versa. Second what is the point of random slices if joe slowdude makes three hundred guns and only sells the perfect slices. Its not random its mass production. Lastly give smugglers something to do. I do not see players haveing probs with buff lines.

Its illegal it should be treated illegally. For those people that are both the crafter and the smuggler here are my thoughts. As a crafter odds are your pathetic, because you are depending on mass sliceing to cover up your shoddy workmanship. Do not give me this line I am a smuggler first. Your a smuggler so you can charge more for the stuff you sell. Upwards of 10 times the value for perfect slices.

Spices are crack you do not go on ebay or to the local seven eleven to buy crack. You should be buying it on a street corner. Where there is a market there is a way. Smugglers will just sell spices as they slice. Hell thats simpler then finding a shop.

PS. I am a mws/ms and I hate the fact that my mws sucks the fun out of the smuggler. Nobody uses the smuggler anymore.

Here's my 2 cents from a former smugglar, and one who wants to go back if the right changes come;

We are speaking of illegal items, spice(drugs) and modified weapons (say fullauto rifles in some states). You don't go to your neighborhood Kmart or Walmart and pick these items up. You either make the items yourself, or go to a person who specializes in such items. So no, i don't think merchants/AS/WS should beable to stick these items on vendors.

I'm not saying they can't sell sliced items...They will just have to have a contract smugglar or have the skills themselves. These are items that should have never been an option for artisans to sell. There's no skill tree in merchant called "Illegal contraband vendors". There's a difference between "goods" and "illegal goods". Some might not agree, but there is when there's a prof with half it's skill trees devoted to illegal goods.

I like the line in ep2 when Obi is in the cantina and the smugglar walks up to him and says "You wanna buy some deathsticks?" It's waaaaaaaay better than hearing in game now "/yell Sliced weapons, armor and spice...... all at fair prices at wp -5555 -4444;/pause 60;/macro spam"

Just a thought but shouldnt we look for diversity in how the professions go about things. I mean really should chefs and smugglers be exactly the same in how they go about things. Selling on the street would be a great roleplay element. If your into vendoring stuff straight up. Go be a chef see you have a option.

Hopefully if spices get the serious kick they need. Trust me on day one in the street players will be all over you for spices.

Yeah, but there SHOULD be an option C, Veela, but I've said that already. There's no need for this to be so black and white.

And Zane, it doesn't preclude me being a merchant. But it DOES make it the combination of Smuggler/Merchant useless. I might as well drop merchant because I have the profession so that I can better sell my goods as a smuggler.

Look, I don't like the Unarmed requirement. I think the whole triple-threat, ninja gunslinger smuggler idea is fricking STUPID, and about as non-smuggler like as you can get. We do NOT kick ass like Kwai Chang Kane. But here we are, all Kung Fu Masters. But you know what? I've never said that TKA should be USELESS when used in conjunction with smuggler. Or that Rifleman should be useless. Or Commando, or any other profession. And if I did, there'd be a crap storm. SO why is it okay for us to make crafting professions useless with smuggler? Why do we get so made at "WS" smugglers and "AS" smugglers? Combat smugglers can pick any template they want to their SUPREME advantage but a crafter can't? A socializer and RP'er like me can't? I don't try and invalidate your all's playstyle. Please. Leave mine alone. I hate playing that card, I really do, but you're talking about making two professions absolutely USELESS together that weren't before. If you make something, if you have something to sell, then Merchants and Vendors should be useful to you. Even combat monkies can sell loot with it. But I can't sell MY merchandise because you guys can't quite swallow the in-game explanation of "he's not a shopkeeper he's my drug dealer who uses my shop as a front?" It's not like I'm not willing to meet half way here either. But this black and white A or B is silly.
