Does it really matter what we want? Sorry to be the pessimist, but we have been asking for smuggler content for ages, and we have absolutely nothing. I have no hopes that this will be any better.

There is no reason why I should be getting the same slices as the idiots hanging around the starports spamming and using 20% tools when I actually go to the trouble to get good resources and experiment. I'm sorry, but if you want option A, it's most likely because you're lazy. Yay for capitalism.

Yes, experimentation is a nice wish.

I guess its time to link the debate thread again because I'm still waiting for someone to explain how it could actually work.

I vote for NO experimentation.

Slicing is already random enough. As a Master Smuggler, i can slice a weapon for 13% speed, and in the next moment, slice armor for 45% encumbrance (yes, I am not exaggerating). Experimentation on the tools would just vary it even more.

Reason: Going to B would require better materials, which are typically more expensive if you don't harvest your own, and a larger pain to collect in sufficient quantity even if you do your own mining. However, customers typically aren't willing to pay higher prices than they're used to, so most slicing would end up making less money per attempt.

I personally harvest my own and go for the best conductivity metals I can find, but sometimes the best I can find is 85%; other times it's 99%. Even with harvesting my own materials, I think I have a total of 22k of 'spare' metal from 7 harvesters running near full-time over the past 2 months.

In a perfect world, B would be my preference, but I think the hit to the profit line would be too large for me.
