I disagree.
I use it many times in pvp. Being a triple master I have no medic. Also I always get impatient when pvp'ing and often times run ahead of my group scouting, looking for the enemy, instigating a fight or whatever. I'll run into the fray, spam in group chat where I'm at and start running back towards teh group, feign, then the group arrives and gets a bunch of free shots off because the baddies are still attacking me. Then usually one of the docs heals me and I stand back up and jump back into the fight
Not to mention it drives FRS jedi nuts that they lose out on the frs xp. That'll change with p10 though.
Also, if your one body is occupying an entire pvp group by drawing tons of diseases and fires, how is that a bad thing? You're holding an awful lot of power in your hands if you can control an entire groups location for a good half-hour to an hour

Oh I didn't mean it wasn't a good tactic at times, I meant that it is sometimes frowned upon. And not all PvP is large group based, so if you PvP and it's you against 2 or 3 enemy, you are not taking one for the team like in your example. A lot of other players consider FD to be in bad taste. In your example, it is a tactic, they get so pissed at you, they don't concentrate on the other 20 people coming in.

What about a Panik-Button-Macro? Something like "get out of the Compo" + FD? That would suit all needs, if the fight gets too dangerous. Running arround with black HAM isn't that bad. Novice Medic love you and you yourself got a good reason to go to the bathroom and raid the fridge on the way back to the keyboard.

ya i have a 'panic macro' that strips the armor and feigns
and to the above.. You're right FD doesn't really serve any purpose if you're alone against a smaller group unless you're just trying to avoid a confrontation. And I'm not sure how frowned upon it is... I've gotten quite a few compliments (and playfull cursing) on the timing of using it from the opposite side
In my experience people might consider it cheap, but its accepted as part of the game.
