I agree its a great profession with a few variety of different skills.
The problems though is that are skills are not great or anything. Crafting wise people dont want our spices that much and you need a top notch armorsmith/weaponsmith to make slicing worthwhile and even then its random. Fighting is only so so if you pick up master pistoleer thats a whole nother bag of worms. And faction selling is prfitable but not great.
All in all its a great profession and a lot of fun.

Heh...I haven't even bothered to get in the FP game since I moved from Bria to Starsider.
#1...I just haven't felt like grinding missions for the FP.
#2...I don't have the 4-mil+ creds it would take to pay another Smuggler to buy my way to Imp Colonel. (I will take charity though...
...if somebody on Starsider needs a partner, feel free to look me up.)
Maybe, when the GCW revamp rolls around and I see what kind of solution they offer after they do away with recursive macros, I'll see about getting back into it.

Yeah, lots of diverse skills...too bad none of them have anything to do with SMUGGLING.

You'll be bitter and cynical like us, eventually. Only a matter of time.
The downhill slide usually begins with "Could you come to my location, 2 solar systems away, to slice my new scout blaster? I'll pay you 500 credits."

Oh, and make some spice and see how many people beat a path to your door. *sigh*
And, btw, just so you can feel the 'love' stand right next to a doc buffing +2400 on all stats for 3+ hours and try and sell your spice.

Congratulations Bain...I remember how excited I was when I finally made Master
I still love being a smuggler after 3 months but honestly I don't use my profession to make money, I usually only slice for friends unless I'm bored and decide to jump into the relm of public slicing, and last if they complain I'm charging too much I don't do the slice I just /shrug and tell them good luck finding another Master
More than anything I love my title
I hope someday we can do some real smuggling and not just the pretend smuggling I get out of my roleplaying...although that is fun too
