Thread: Do you commercially slice?

I do, but never advertise for it. A master smuggler tag shown while you are in coronet is guarantee to get you a few customer ( I usually get at least 3-4 tell the second I land ) At 7k/slice I can make a decent amount of creds in no time. Although this isn't my main source of income and I try to avoid big city if I dont feel like slicing.

I only slice for my guild mates or friends. I sometimes slice for the occasional weaponsmith/armorsmith (the best money).

I don't slice for profit anymore, it just isn't efficient enough to justify the time and effort. 10 minutes of solo-grouping on Dantooine can net 40-50k credits, whereas in 10 minutes of slicing, most of that is time wasted educating customers on how to use their trade windows, explaining that I can't pick slices and picking my way through tell-hell. No thanks!
For now, I exclusively slice for friends and guildies at no cost. Everyone else is on their own.

I''m a master but I only use the "rogue" title because I don't want to be bothered right now. If they changed some things such as the ability to choose speed or damage, I would be much happier. People still haven't learned that we CAN'T choose.....not an option. I do slice for friends for free. I have opened cans for strangers for free if they are rebel. When I get /tells asking if I would slice a weapon from a stranger, I tell them "sure, but i'm not a master". They politely declline.
On another note, while using my alt on Valcyn server, I saw a smuggler reply to a rate request that he charges 15k per slice because if doctors can charge that and claim hard to get resources then that is why he has to charge that too.

I live in Europe and so I often log in about one hour before Serverdown.
In that time and sometimes one or two hours before I log out and sit around in a corner of the Theed cantina Tag up and searchable. (The Dancers roleplay is really fun)
I created several macros
1. /r I charge 5.000 Crd per slice, meet me in Theed cantina
/r Don't bring officials or I'll be gone before you can even see me.
2. /ward self
/spit self
(Really great when beginning slicing)
3. /r Have fun and if you get scanned, you don't know me!
In those times I get a lot of customers, well heven't had a queue yet, but the /r thing don't work ( "TELL HELL" )

slicing can get ourself decent money, simply get a shop and sell presliced gear.
slicing for people = low money, 5k/slice, some clients pissed off.
slicing for shop = High money, clients happy and bring friends.
land a 35% damage on a T21 for a client, you'll get 5k out of it.
land a 30% damage on a T21 you paid 30k, you'll sell it for 100k and people will think it's cheap.
nothing as simple as that, artisan/business4 was a prereq for smuggler a long while ago, think bout it.

I don't slice for the public anymore. I only slice for friends, or for the occasional weaponsmith/armorsmith order. If a non-friend really needs a slice my price is 10k per slice.
I definitely prefer weaponsmith/armorsmith orders. I finished a 200 item slice order, payout came to 1.5 million.

I wear the master smuggler title and let the title speak for itself. I mostly get tells when I m in highly populated areas ( I wonder why ? ). I do not SPAM, I hate all the spamming in and around starports and most of those one message per 10th second gets a free ticket to my ignore list.

Yes till I master its averaging 4k/slice. usually I just tell people to pay me what they think its worth. Some overpay some under, needless to say those that underpay make it onto a special list. So far only one person has paid less than 4k per. *shrug*

I stopped slicing for the public long ago - I wear my "Rogue" title, or occasionally "Gunslinger". I now just slice for myself and my guild, the only slicing I do for pay is bulk work for my guild's WS.

Mostly I slice for my guildmates. I have been charging others 5k a slice for some time, only had one complaint and Im seriously considering DOUBLING my price to 10K and really go commercial

YOu smugglers on servers like intrepid are LUCKY you can charge 5-7k a slice, I have an alt on intrepid and I was amazed that the regular fare is above 5k a slice... I have to WORK to get 5k on Lowca... Most anyone pays on Lowca is 3k unless I am the only smuggler they've seen for days.
