There are some Smugglers who would want their names on the weapon, but there are also plenty that would not.

Those "smugglers" are all slicing outside starports /yelling their services.

Content is one thing - I'm all for more interesting and challenging ways to play.

But this idea basically boils down to "Let's allow weaponsmiths to make guns that are harder to slice (as if they'd care to) and let's find a way to punish smugglers who slice (as if there's anything else that Smugglers can really do)".

I have a better idea for Smuggler content: how about, they do the freakin' revamp they've been promising for a year, already?

I agree...bad idea...

And what WS would want to make something that can't be enhanced, when all his/her compeditors stuff can be enhanced?

Keep coming up with ideas, good job on that, but this one would just give us even less to do...

Since when does giving someone "1 Star" considered rude? It is great that we all are trying to add content, but this idea wasn't very well thought out. I disagree with his reasoning completely, I would say good weapons built with high quality components would be able to take more of an improvement than one built with low quality components.

It's considered rude because giving someone 5 stars suggests that what they said is great and giving less suggests it's less than great. Another part of it that makes it appear rude is that you're not obligated to give someone a star rating whether it's 1, 3, 4, or 5. It's completely voluntary and one starring someone's posts sends a message to the poster that their idea or statement doesn't have merit.

That's just it, I didn't think his idea had merit and was completely thought through. I'm all for making Slicing more of a challenge, I'm all for adding content to the game that makes our proffesion seem more illegal, but it would take two seconds to relize that no weaponsmith out there is going to add a component that's going to make their weapons unslicable. Not to mention the uproar in the whole PvP community. I see no reason to not give "The Post" and "The Idea" a one star. If we go around giving every post 5 stars, then why even have the system. In no way did I make any personal attacks against the poster, that I would consider rude and uncalled for.

Well the fact of the matters is that giving the person whatever rating is not compulsory. You could state whether you don't believe the post has merit without having to give it a one star and wait for the page to reload.

Giving the person one star is really unneeded as you can get your point across without it. There are plenty of posts that have been made where people don't think it has merit but don't take the time to give it a rating because a simple "I don't think it's well thought out" will do.

I did both, I was not looking for an easy way to reply to an idea I did not like. So, I gave him the one star. If others have a problem with it they are welcome to give him 5 stars, but stating that giving a 1 star is rude, unfriendly and I didn't have a good reason for it is ludacrious. I can agree that you need to do more than just give a star and move on.
