Thread: Make it hard(er) for smugglers to slice

Now Im a master smuggler on tempest and if anyone ever takes the time too read the little discrition thing when you slice it says something like " The maker of this weapon was tricky but not good enough for you. ect" So Why not make it so Weapon smiths can make elite weapons but once the weapon is at a certin damage lvl or speed lvl a new part called Failsafe regulator or anti slice system. Because roleplaying alittle Sliceing is illegal and when your cought the maker of the weapon should be harrased and warned ect. So by incresing the difficulty of it it adds alittle more roleplaying content.
Low level weapons should be allowed to be sliced and when sliced andget very high %'s. Because if its just a cheap gun it should be able to be upgraded easy compared to a gun that has best parts and resources but into it.
Now when the smugglers revamp comes around wouldnt it be cool if your were cought by the empire and they gave you a deal asking you who sliced your gun ect for less of a fine or a get out of jail free card. This could possbly help get smugglers on the Bh boards. But they Empire could also coming knocking on a WS door and do a search of there house or something seeing if there are and supposed " Illegal goods about."

If NPCs come knocking on my door, I'll ban them from the house, and then send wave after wave of detonation droids after them.

I think some of you smugglers would like to see a "This weapon has been altered by the incredible [your name]" instead of the old message *grin*

What's better, is they'll keep trying to enter the house, when they can't, they'll be sitting ducks, and all be in the blast radius.

No, actually, I would hate that.
Reason #1: I wouldn't want it to say "the incredible" or anything so self-serving. I'm a Smuggler, not a circus act.
Reason #2: Slicing is (supposed to be) illegal. What kind of moron would you have to be to commit a crime and then inscribe your name on the only piece of evidence?
There are some Smugglers who would want their names on the weapon, but there are also plenty that would not.

That's a horrible idea. What Weaponsmith is going to advertise they have the hardest uber weapons to slice with the lowest possible output.
And if I wanted my name on a gun I'd be a WS. I'd rather build a nasty reputation the old fashioned way, by word of mouth.

Geez, don't one star the guy for trying an idea. It may not have been great but he doesn't deserve to be shunned. C'mon, this is one of the nice communities left, let's not turn it into a galaxy forum.
