I'm only a 2-4-2-4 smuggler at the moment since i'm having to try and keep up in my armorsmithing skills (hard to go back to armorsmithing when you have fun as a smuggler), but i feel that our 4 special attacks should count for something. i like my panic shot because it gives me the time to Burst Run the hell outta the situation instead of staring at death coming toward me in a the visage of a laser barrage or a large mob of VERY angry NPC's/PC's. Take that away and i'll be dead every time i feel like playing the role of a smuggler. Where is the fun in that? Bad enough that i cannot FD without worrying about getting back up and getting aggro'ed immediately.

I'm withholding my vote as such, but for one reason only. I want to know what the purpose of this change is and what the current system will be replaced with. The devs have yet to tell us what we can expect from the changes, except that they're "Really cool." If this is part of an overall design that actually works and IS cool, then I have no problem with incremental nerfs to get us there.

For the record, guys, I think this isn't directed at us specifically. This is about state changes. Look at the way things have been going. Bleeds have been hit. Now delays. Next up are probably knockdowns and dizzies, followed shortly thereafter by posture changes, blinds, etc. Pretty much every state changing special in the game will likely get hit eventually, and it's all towards some as yet undisclosed purpose. That's why I'm not signing yet. I want to know where we're going and what we can expect before I say "This sucks!" From what TH has said a number of times, this is the painful part of the combat revamp where they're essentially gutting the system in favor of a new one. What I want to know is what the new system will actually do, how it will differ, etc. The devs have yet to really wake up and learn that it's good to TELL PEOPLE what you have planned at least in general terms, or they simply don't care if we yell "It's another nerf, dammit!" They'd probably maintain a lot more goodwill by moving away from the CIA "You don't have a need to know" model and by moving towards a more communicative model. And I don't just mean communicative as in the standard "Oh it's gonna be so cool! Trust me!" response that we tend to get.

For all the forum revamps, correspondent programs, top 5, top 10, etc. these guys have yet to really figure out how to provide clear information to players on a regular basis. That's their chief downfall in terms of public relations, I think.

Sadly I don't think they have ever really given us a purpose for anything they have done to the Smugglers Solo. Something tells me they aren't about to start.

Oh, I agree, Caylin. They won't tell US anything, but they could tell the players in general. This isn't going to be limited merely to smugglers. It hits brawlers as well. The carbiners were already told that the bleed changes were part of the big revamp and to just sit tight. The BHs are probably next, as are any of the professions that have state changing attacks. The question that I have is will they tell ANY of us, not just smugglers but all players, what we can expect from the eventual combat changes and how they will be replaced. I want to know how all this stuff fits together or at least how it's SUPPOSED to fit together.

OK smuggling community i'm sure that there have been some petitions already started out there but because I don't see it at the top of this page I figured I'd start a new one and hopefully everyone will sign it and try to keep it on the first page so that any SOE employee can see our anguish about our nerf to panic Shot and yes this is a NERF !!!!!! Maybe if the Dev's had paid more attention to our profession in the past we could have swallowed this a lil better but seeing as how they haven't I think we have evry right to be upset. So come on guys and show some SOLIDARITY !!!!!!!!!!

I guess the difference that I see between this and the crackdown was that the crackdown only really negatively affected us. By comparison, the combat changes we've seen are affecting EVERYONE, not just us. It's almost like SOE stood up and said "Alright, that's it! Everyone loses 50 points!" Doesn't really matter much because it's all relative in that scenario.

I definitely want to know the why, though and what's being put in place. If nothing is being put in place, then they'd better well be planning on giving us some really useful NEW skills in our DF tree. In that sense, I'll definitely /sign.
