Raganat,
A suggestion is to not put all your stock on the shelf but keep some in the stockroom. Especially if you believe the kits are more hassle than they are worth. It is not good to have an empty vendor but if you can stock one or two times a day, you will still get the repeat business because you will "usually" have stuff in stock without being a slave to the factory.

I don't trust the stockroom... AT ALL. But besides that you're basic premis is right. I do run 2 factories, and I'm almost never out of stock because I restock 1x/day and I usually have a few crates in my factory output hoppers in case, but if I hit a real busy streak like a few people deciding they wanna take up smuggler the same day and they buy me close to out of WUKs, Clamps & weapons I really have to juggle the time of WUKs with the need also for clamps & knives whatever else I normally need to make.

I sell PLks & survival knives for 2.5k, Wuks & AUKs for 3k & clamps for 10k and of those its the WUKs and the speed they're used vs. the speed that they can be made and the compensation for them that is the most annoying of the bunch. But like I said, I do it because its part of the "job", not because its where the money is. (that's in the survival knives )

I must be playing on the wrong server. On Naritus, the best prices I've found thus far are (for cases of 25):

Laser Knives - 3150

AUKs/WUKs - 5000

Clamps - 10000

Or maybe I'm just shopping at the wrong vendors... Anyone with better sources on Naritus feel free to inform me

I keep just enough on my vendor for a page. That's about 20-25 of clamps, wuks, auks, PLKs, and survival knives. I log out in my shop and log in before work for about 5 min. That's just long enough to get my vendor back on the map and move stuff out of the stockroom. When I get home in the evenings and play, I can move a bit more out of the stockroom if stuff has sold. What this does for me is insure that both daytime and nightime customers will see stuff on the shelf but no one person can clean me out and leave the vendor empty for more than half a day or less. It also increases repeat business because my customers can have faith that a couple of times a day, I'll put stuff on the shelf. It also gives some lead time to start an unhurried factory run if running low.

For those discussing pricing...I charge 2500 for everything but clamps. 8000 for a crate of clamps.

I've been seeing the pricing threads appearing again so I also want to remind people that "undercutting" and "overcharging" are two sides of the same coin. Also, what many may not realize is the same arguments that are used to increase slicing prices can be used to increase tool prices. At 12,500 for a crate of clamps and 2500 for kits and PLKs, it will cost 650 cr to slice an item. Should I as a tool vendor raise my prices because my customers are making 5K-8K a slice? Just something to think about...
