Thread: How much does a good slice cost?

What I am trying to figure out is why the core booster is so much more expensive than a delicate trigger? Both are the highest lvl component needed to complete that slice in their respective fields anyway. So why is a booster worth 1 mil+ while a trigger is only worth 200k or so? From what I have been able to test so far I would much rather have my weapon sliced to max speed than dmg, I've had much better end results reported from clients that the speed slice is so much better.

Very simple. I can loot quite a few delicate triggers from krayt dragons in no time at all, whereas I could spend hours in space killing black suns and not get a single core booster.

The answer to that question varies as follows:
per server
per smuggler
do you have all the necessary components?

well, if i dont have any of the components, would 1mil be good for 15-17% damage increase?

You are kidding right? No longer possible. 1 mill wouldn't get you a level 1 through 3 damage slice along with using our own components, and unless I am mistaken we can't hit 15% any more.

Its almost laughable to see a playerbase that refuses to believe that smuggler's cannot slice the way they used to. I get a half dozen tells a day that argues with me about the new slicing rules. I have email macros full of instructions and analysis of the new rules, along with slicing charts, and even detailed pricing lists. I give them Combo Prices where all they have to do is say, "I'd like a #3, plz." Still not good enough for these simpletons. And yet others incessantly complain that I can't give them a Lvl-3 Dmg for 5K (cussing and accusing me of 'gouging'). Its becoming a joke trying to slice nowadays. Devs change rules, and who takes the heat? Us Smugglers that are forced to play under these new rules.

I can't even conceive of a good price for slicing any more. It has gotten stupid thanks to the new "hey, lets really hurt the smugglers bymaking them loot components" crap.

Im on Farstar and I charge 10k per every slice.
A full speed slice is 4 slices = 40k
If I supply the components its 10k for Simple, 20k for Finaly and 30k for Trigger.
A total of 100k for max speed slice.
The Illeal Cores will surely drop to same price when they start to drop.

I found a passable way to deal with component rarity: guildies get free slices as long as they provide the components. This usually results in people giving me extra components. Then I charge non-guildies an anti-decay kit for a lvl 3

4 Black Sun Duty missions, not one ICB has dropped yet.
Went out Krayt hunting last night, got 4 triggers.
Yes, for now I plan to charge more for a slice involving an ICB than a trigger, if I have to provide the part.
