Smuggler is not the only prof ignored. Im msmuggler/mcommando and both proffs arebadly broken. actually can't say commando is broken, just non existant. I came for the title, but only the community has kept me here, and when star trek online comes out, im switching.....

Heres the "Small, Very Vocal Group" Who are complaining, just on the Ahazi galaxy. All these people, they are the community, but to you they are corporate casualties. In alphabetical Order:

Two sentences


  • I honestly believe the design, implementation and ongoing upkeep of the Smuggler profession in SWG will become a benchmark in future years for MMRPG development teams, on how to not design, implement and continue a game class



  • Tiggs and TH need immediate replacing as the Community Relations team, as the 'community relations' here is non-existant, leading to committed players leaving the game not through the awful design, implementation and upkeep of their profession mentioned above, but because the communication from SOE to the player base is so utterly pathetic as tosuggest negligence on the part of the Community Relations team.

I have to agree. SWG's design and implementation is a laughing stock amongst the profession. I actually pity the devs, though. Guys like Tyrant have been hurt, I think anyway, by being employed by SOE.

It seriously seems like they are trying to push subscriptions down by destroying the game, as if they were trying to break a contract or something...uh oh, I didn't just say that.





Incompetent development team? ...check!
Inadequate server hardware? ...check!

This put it all into perspective for me. If they are trying to make the game fail, and therefore get out of runing it by pi**ing off lucasarts, everything that has/is being done by the devs makes more sense.


They can't just quit, as they'd get sued big time. But if lucas arts just doesn't like the job being done, they could probably just yank it from SOE. (of course that depends on the language of the contract between the 2)

Might be worth to but a sentence or 2 about how you feel the smuggler profession has been treated from the start of the game to present day.


Im very disappointed I would have thought a profession being able to do its namesake should be at the top of the list of things which need to be implemented unfortunately this has been neglected not to mention a certain couple of professions asking for nerf's on our specials so as soon as we get anything worth having someone pops in and it gets changed.


We are told to expect one thing which sounds really cool and then when a change happens it is no where near what a profession which has been in statis for 2 years warrents, and i hold very little expectations for smuggler missions even if they ever finish them i dont have any faith that these will be what they should be.


Please dont converse in this thread just write a few sentences how you feel about the treatment of the smuggler profession.

If we actually received some fukcing treatment I might have something to say. But seeing as though all we ever get is plague dog corpses thrown in our water, I couldn't actually tell you how I feel.


I do, however, have something to say about the lack of 'support' advertised in this game. I have many things to say about the people (I'm being so very generous there) who make the decisions about this POS game's development. But seeing as nobody is home, I shan't bother. They can all get stuffed.


I'm off to play Planetside. Bugger, no I'm not, I have to go open my shop.

I have only one thing to say about SOE, SWG and the way it treats it's customers. 2.8% market share. says it all really.



We're Charley Brown, the Dev's are lucy and the Smuggler revamp is the football.
Every time we think, this is the time were gona get to kick the football Lucy pulls it away at the last minute.

What makes me really angry is that they don´t even try. Seriously, some of you people have waited for over two years by now. How hard can it be so say:


"Sorry guys, we are still in testing. We are currently devoting [enter number] working hours per week exclusively to the Smuggler revamp. Currently, we plan to implement the following changes and features: [enter description]. We decided against implementing the following changes and features, that have been sugested for the following reasons [enter list and reasons]. We currently intend to bring the upcoming revamp to TC on [enter date]. We highly encourage you to do extensive testing and give us a feedback on your experiences with the revamp ideas. We currently plan to publish the Smuggler revamp during the next [enter a couple of weeks or month], but this assuming, that no mayor modifications become necessary. Meanwhile, we will give you a short uptade on the progress on every monday."


Btw, did anyone notice that the latest announcement is a whole week old?

Well, I'm sure I could go down the list point by point, but I'd just be ranting (something that I'm really trying to stop) and you all know what the points are anyway.


Needless to say, I'm not happy at all, especially with the new slicing/loot system. At this point, I'm not even sure being able to smuggle will save the profession for me.

How I feel about the treatment? Good mostly.

With the now fixed CU version of smuggler a smuggler character is a very valuable part of a combat group, the randomness of slicing is finally gone too (I don't say the new version is "optimal" for me, but I am not naive enough to ever expect any change to be optimized for me, I'm just one person among many :-P). When I "signed up" for smuggler I was very much aware that there is no smuggling in the smuggler profession so that part doesn't bother me too much.
