Nice ideas but I have to point out some things to you where the plan is flawed.

The evades for one. There are a few issues.

Master bh can send out multiple droids, and there are a endless supply they come back. So does this evade have a percent against each droid or is it a cumulative. If its cumulative a MBH just has no chance. A player can get pretty far before the next hit.

If its against each droid the novice bhs will burn through crates like you wouldnt beleive. - for 10mina player would be masked from all seeker droids. 10 min only and the skill is only good once an hour. The skill is only to buy time and nothing more.

The bh hunt works against jedis, because jedis have to stop and fight to get xp. So they are compelled by lust for points to stay in one place long enough for a bh to get them. If the mission involves smuggleing that player is in constant motion. If that is the case the BH will not be able to catch up JTL makes matters more difficult. If that were not bad enough there is also ways for players to blow up bounties. A smuggler can duck into a city and the bh without a firm lock will have a hell of a time figureing out which dot is you. Plus and this bug is still going on when a bh goes over a large body of water the missions bug and delete. So a smart smuggler will just travel over the water. Result less refined smugglers can do infinite missions with little chance of failure. - it is not meant to be easy for either smugglers or BH's please understand this is a cat and mouse game, smugglers are not going to be an easy mark. It goes back to balance, if a jedi is tuffer in a fight and easy to find then a smuggler who is not as strong needs to be harder to find.

The bribeing sounds good, but this really isnt a necassary bonus. Seeing as you can avoid scans in the game with ease. - this would be after the GSW re-vamp when scans are tuffer. Scanning should have been a great roleplay device but it isnt. If your a rebel you just waste the stormies if your an imp you get a slap on the wrist. So while it sounds good it really dosent enhance the smugglers role in the community. - as I said at the top of the first post this idea is based on things being changed (i.e. after the CU/GSW re-vamp and a smuggler re-vamp)

I don't think he meant that the only time a bh will hunt the smug is during a smug mission.

i could be totally wrong.

Okay I see your point but let me make some more counter points.

Cat and mouse yes thats fun, but there are serious issues with the percentage chance of a successful pursuit. The system as you have stated is increadibly low. - not true the mask is only for 10min then the BH can start the search again, plus the skill is only goodonce an hour again this goes back to "buying time"and nothing more.I am not argueing for it to be easy, but if a BH discovers its next to impossible we start getting into some serious problems. - BH is on your tail you mask, he waits 10min and the chase is on again.

Smuggler/BH unity always. The jedi system is designed so most jedi will not abuse this, but smugglers do not have this consideration. Smugglers would take up missions to get wasted by the bh so they could split the reward. - onemission does not put you on the terminals,if you fail or steal the cargo over time you build up visability that eventually puts you on the BH terms. What is the point of failing say 12 missions and wasting time just to get killed by a BH for a reward that is not all that big.If the reward for a successful smuggle is higher smugglers will be able to enlist bhs to act as body guards. - again you get payed for the success of a mission if you fail it you dont get payed if you steal the cargo (same as failing) you dont get payed. Because visibilty is built slowly and over time you dont really know when your on theterminals and if you never fail or steal your never on the terminals. The only way this could be curtailed atleast would be to make the smuggleing mission multiteired. Make it twenty point A to B to C affairs where each path gives a greater reward each step of the way. While the bh reward is marginally lower for getting the kill. This means the players cant have the smuggler getting a mission from jabba and getting wasted by the front door. - again yourbasing this on get a mission get on theterminals and thats not the case at all.The big money is only when the smuggler is getting near the end of the mission. This would work on multiple ways. It means the BH will most likely have a number of detractors going against him and her. If you get the smuggler too early you actually waste your time. If you wait to long the smuggler might finish the mission , and you the bounty value resets to like fifty credits. Plus another BH might be on the trail. - you get a mission to smuggle on the way you have scans and thugs to deal and yes you have to go from planet to planetwhen you make it to the end you get payed and are not added to the terminals no reason for your system. The goal is not to flood the terminals with smugglers it is simply to add another aspect to the game. Many smugglers would never even make it to the terminals and the ones who do, do it because they want to be hunted.

This works out well. You have the BH a stronger opponent. Dealing not only with hunting you the smuggler down, but of also haveing to be wary of other smugglers. Once another bh attacks you a bh with a bounty on you gets a tef against the other bh. Result is eventually you willget two bhs fighting over who gets to kill you. - would happen anyway if more then one BH pulls your mission

A ten minute blinder on bhs would also not be necassary. If the starting bounty is like fifty credits who needs a ten minute head start. Your not worth killing until you are worth alot more. - what BH is going to sit at a term waiting for your price to go up, its not practical.Maybe leg twenty should have you makeing 100k, and you being worth 100k to a bh. The result is obvious. - BH's not bothering to take your mission and again your basing this on real time Im basing it on visibility. Also the main point of the mask is so we at master can smuggle people something we really need to be able to do. What better reason to smuggle a player then to hide their tef or bio sig from a bh or enemy faction. Eventually your going to have to jump from one planet to another, and there in lies the advantage. A probot base takes five to ten minutes to locate the new planet your on. So right there you have a head start. - again your missiong the point it is a skill that has more use when grouped with other players, smuggling the main goal of this whole thing. Tef'd players and Jedi could buy the time they need to get away and not die at a star port waiting to leave the planet. The bh has to wait to find the planet and if he goes to the wrong town he will have to travel again.

So really there is no need for blinding seekers if you set the mission up right. On the other handto even make the mission more complex. Plus to make them more strategic. We could have the mission be an on foot type of affair. That means both the bh and the smuggler have to be on foot except when traveling to another planet of coarse. This will come in play later. To make it simple people chaseing eachother on bikes is like a dog chaseing his tail. One this allows for more strategic play other then autorun on a speeder, and second it will give the BH a chance to use the terrain negotiation he has, and the smuggler to use some new skills to throw him off the trail. - i dought people are going to be thrilled about being forced to run everywhere.

Underworld. While I agree that it should be more useful giveing it skillmods really dosent actually add any content. - so smuggling another player is not content? It would be far better to give underworld value to the general community. Plus new moves and tools would allow this line to be more desireable in the smuggler tree. In effect rewarding master smugglers.

Underworld 1. Overload knockdown. Simple enough move. Smuggler takes a ranged weapon and over a minute is able to remove the safety features on the weapon. The gun is now set to overload. Plus a trip fuse is planted on it. Any player that picks it up or bumps it, and it explodes, Knocking the player down and dizzying the player for a time proportional to the damage. - that would be great if you could placeitems on the ground, you can only do that in a house plus you cant bump into things given the game mechanics this would never work.In other words if you blow up an llc you will get a better result then blowing up a cdef. The smuggler will have the option to remote detonate weapon, or let it self delete once the smuggler is one thousand meters away of they leave the planet. This will allow smugglers to keep bhs from straight tracking them, and it could come in useful for pvp. Since nobody else can see it. A perfect way to ambush another player, or to defend a base. - "hmmm a weapon on the ground that is strange must be a bug or a smuggler trick cause thats the only way a weapon would be laying there like that" and then the player moves on, sorry but this is just unpractical.

Underworld 2 Concealed itentity. Allow a smuggler who feals the heat is too close to use concealed identity. This will allow a smuggler for a short time maybe a minute to look like a nearby npc. Be it a valarian or a meatlump or even a blacksun. This way when attacked the npcs will protect the smuggler. A smuggler will have a large rebuild to this, but If the bh is only three hundred meters behind and there are some good npcs to work off nearby the smuggler can stand and fight against a bh with the help of some npcs, but if the fake identity runs out the smuggler will be the one jumped. Once again the bh will have to be careful a concealed smuggler can use this to regain a couple hundred more yards. Plus on base raids or city raids this would come in useful to flank an enemy. - not a bad idea but what about negative faction andhow would this work mechanics wise would you look like a meat lump, could this be done in game by the devs?.

Underworld 3. Sabotage. Allows a smuggler to sabotage any terminal in the game. Be it a travel terminal banking terminal or even starship terminal. This will last for five minutes, It will effect anything that terminal would have any control over. If the smuggler sabotages a bounty terminal. The bh will get a message this bounty cannot be confirmed at this time. If you kill this criminal you may not get payed. If the smuggler sabotages the starship terminal he can deny the bh the use of his personal starship. If he sabotages the travel terminal the bh cannot use the travel terminal. This would allow a smuggler to have some control over the person persueing him or her. You can spike the bounty terminal, and the bh will have to wait to kill you. If you die before the spike is up he gets nothing. If you spike the starship terminal the bh cannot use his personal starship. If you spike the banking terminal you deny the bh access to his bankbox, but worse you deny him the ability to use credits from the bank. This would be even better as a criminal element kind of thing. Allow a syndicate of smugglers to sabotage a cities infrastructure. If you say seize an enemy town you can have the smuggler slice the cloneing terminal denying the enemy the ability to use it. Cool roleplay element actually useful skill. - and you cant find any griefing issues with this one, lol.

Underworld 4. Crimelord. Allow the smuggler a chance to get his own criminal pet. The smuggler finds a nonfaction NPC, and can tame them be it a blacksun or a commando or a hutt assassin. The smuggler simply has to find one not in a dungeon, and offer a bribe to the npc to come work for him or her. The higher the npc usually the more it will cost to bribe it, but once you do. The name over the npc will change to be your assassin. A smuggler can do this as many times as they like but the affect is limited it might only last like thirty minutes. While on the other hand if you store the new npc pet it will last until it dies in combat. Good for the smuggler who has decided to stop and fight any pursueing bh. Since shooting you will make any turned npc aggro on the bh, or for a pvp event it will allow a crimelord to turn a number of npcs to his or her side. Simply by getting there first. Or turning another crimelords npcs. You can allow a master smuggler to have two npc pets. - NPC pets is a great idea and something not new, GM talked about it and it would be a welcome addition, no one is saying that what i put in the skill trees is all that would be in them, just what was related to the over all smuggling concept.

Master smuggler underworld.

Overload knockdown 2will get a increase in radius. Allowing it to more then likely knock down more then one opponent.

Concealed allegiance allow a smuggler to conceal themselves as an opposeing faction member for fifteen seconds.

Sabotage. Overide travel search. This will allow a smuggler to go to a shuttle and activate this function when the shuttle lands. Faction reinforcements will pour out. They will not be commandable, but will engage the enemy if he wonders too near.

Crimelord gets two henchmen.

I just cannot see why have skill mods. When we could actually get some new content. - i dont see where you have added any usable content, sorry.Overloading guns disguises sabotage these are actual moves a starwars smuggler would use. - evade and bribe are skills a chief uses??

ana-mo-cara I'd suggest you read some of the Contraband missions threads and Smuggler bounties threads. Some of your ideas are good, but so much has already been covered and argued already. I don't think any of the longtime Smugglers want to go through it again.

Quest to remove names from the terminals

1. Smuggler slices a BH terminal and can view a list of all players (Jedi, Smugglers, whoever else is eventually included in player bounties) with active bounties on their heads. The smuggler learns the mark's name, faction, profession, the name of the BH with the mission, and the group/faction that took out the bounty (i.e. Empire, Black Sun, Hutts, etc)

2. The Smuggler contacts the hunted player. They meet and form a group.

3. The two players then find an informant. The specific informant you need to see will change depending on the faction that took the mission out. The informant will then give you a WP to a computer terminal that can be sliced (this would spawnan instanced mini-dungeon/building)to erase the BH's mission. Inside the dungeon/building would be NPC of the faction that took out the bounty trying to prevent the Smuggler & mark from reaching the computer terminal.

4. Of course you are dealing with a sleazy informant, so after youtalk tohim he will then send a message to the BH which will alert the BH that the mark is trying to clear the mission. The BH can then travel to the informant to get a waypoint to the computer terminal.

5. It then becomes a race to see who can reach the terminal first. If the smuggler and mark get there first they can erase the mission . If the BH gets there in time, there can be some good wholesome PvP fun.

I added this to the main post, its an idea that came from a jedi named sportiva and seems to fit well with the over all plan. What do you all think?

To ana-mo-cara:

You sir, are a Weaponsmith that took up Smuggler to accent your business. I've read your previous posts.

You want to give bonuses to WS in slicing. You want to make it easier for someone to pick up Smuggler.

The ideas want to make me puke frankly. Is it not bad enough that Smuggler..being a stand-alone elite profession,...is slowly being torn apart? Now...you want the slicing ability for WS.

You don't want Smuggler to be "required" for WS, because its too skill point intensive...and you advertise your "Rule of Thumb" to always buy your gear already sliced?????

Here ya go...an idea: Get. Another. Account.
