no in live w2e can see our ranks in the top right hand corner of the character sheet, The rank is to be visible to other players under the title. Thats the new patch

Mm I am not sure, because if it was the case why not just add our rank in the drop down title list, instead of giving us the option to check "show factional rank" elsewhere?

Can someone who is factionned on TC clear that up for us? My newbie char over there is not factionned.

You are correct. It is not in the skill titles, but instead it is listed in the character sheet as a checkbox saying "Display Faction Rank" or something like that. It'll say, for example:

Osrix Ahazian
(Colonel)
(Quickdraw)

Some more testing on TC

Master Smuggler Rebel... Warrant Officer 1 (353500 FP cap)

started with a about 6k FP

bought by the 10k (1250 + 125 COA bonus) until I hit 34423 FP

Attempted to donate 100k (which would put me over cap). 100k credits were taken and the sys messages were:

You successfully make a payment of 100000 credits to Ev'Sti A-eglu (a Rebel recruiter).
You have been awarded 927 points of Rebel factin standing.

Checking my FP I'm indeed exactly at 35350 FP

Further attempts to donate results in the old (and no money taken):

"I appreciate the offer, but you've done enough for us already." Ev'Sti A-eglu (a Rebel recruiter) says to Overt.

So you can't go over cap, and the message is exactly where it was before technically (as it doesn't show up until you try to buy donate when you're over the limit, be it 500 or the FP cap of your rank), but I don't know how I feel about loosing the faction on the donation that would bring you to the cap. Doesn't really hurt me on TC, but something to be careful of.

I also feel funny about leveling in rank this fast. Can't say its wrong, but in a minute or two (minus the time it took to change alts and bank tip more cash), from WO1, with no help from anyone else, I was able to buy enough FP to hit Colonel (and showing it off, thanks to other fixes on TC)


(Oh, and to the person whose char was wiped, its most likely you made the toon on a temporary test server or during a period where the whole server was rolled back - like last weekend)

Here is what the new faction titles look like, you can display both your faction rank and your char title or you can option to turn 1 or the other off.
