Excellent post.

Seems like everytime I get something sliced I get told a quick story about the previous customer being an all around ass about a slice.

i agree with some, others......

many of these are the same for all crafters.

1, dont haggle?? why not thats all part of being a smuggler, merchant, crafter, its all about the Deal.

2, the disference between master and lvl 4 slicer is only 5% and seeing its random a lvl 4 can do a better slice than masters many times or vice versa. a 29% slice by a lvl 4 is just as good as any master slice.

3, send e-mails, or ask if the person is busy or has a min, this oges for any profection. If you dont hear from them for 5 mins dont ask 3 more times. there are plently of times when the peeps are busy, aka in the middle of a deal, trying to get a run going. dealing with other customers, or even running for there lives on a harvester trip. E-mails will usally get a more complete answere and make for a much happier person.

4, if you dont like the price dont get pissed and start calling us names or ripping us. You have every right to go and find yourself a better deal. There are plenty of times i have said no thanks to rich for my blood.

5, any custom order can take a few days to do. crafters, and spice for smugglers. Dont ask a million times a day if the order is ready. An e-mail will follow as soon as the order is done. Some times there are snags, ran outta resorces,. had a harvester emergency. a new resorces poped and they are waiting to get some to make an even better item. there is a lot more to it than jsut using 2-3 recorces and clicking build.

6,shop around, price, service, promtness, its all part of the deal. pay more for better service. pay less for a quick slice while at the space doc. Give a nice tip for that ubere slice. Next time you need a slice you will be much higher on the list.

7,if you say your gonna meet at X time be there, dont leave us hanging for 30-60 mins saying im almost there when you know your 4k out from space doc and have to jump 2 ships to get there. time is money and crafters always has tons to do.

8, Treat everone how you want to be treated, random acts of kindness WILL get you places in starwars. A big tip, a free upgrade, giving away your half used high quality weapon to somone that gave you some good advice.. what comes around goes around.

following just a few of these suggestions will make every crafters day.

Thanks Din, completely agree.

Here's a couple clarifications for ya

#1 - Weapon MAX slice is 35%, Armor MAX slice is 45%. If someone is advertising something else, move along, this is not the smuggler you are looking for.

#2 - Never take offense to a Smuggler not responding to a /tell. We probably get /tell spammed more then any other profession in the game, it's nothing personal. If you don't get us on the com, try and e-mail as explained above.

#3 - It's always nice for a smuggler to hear "Sorry about Underworld man......", we can't get enough of that.

Shout right back at ya Dinian

Ummm... huh? I've done several 31-35% slices, even before I got Slicing IV (last night! Yay!). If I'm reading your quoted line above correctly, that should not have been possible?

I understand there's still argument on this forum about whether or not a Master Smuggler slices better than a Slicer... or has a concensus been reached?

just make up one more and we can call it the Ten Commandments of Slicing. I'm really serious about that.

Were those 31-35% numbers on Armor pieces? If so, then you're right in line with what you should be seeing. Slice 4 should up that to top out at 40% on armor and 30% on weapons.

And it has been confirmed by a dev in another post that...YES, Master Smugglers do get a small slicing bonus. We get maxed at 35% on weapons and 45% on armor.

Nope, all were weapons.

I'll be attentive and grab screen caps when I get another, but I didn't know these numbers "couldn't happen" until I read these threads, so I didn't think them to be anything other than exceptional successes.

I'm not interested in inflating my sales/ego by claiming high slice successes or whatever ( typically advertise 17-30% anyway), but rather I'm interested in knowing the true facts.

DO bring multiple (5+)IDENTICAL pieces if you ARE looking for a specific slice (speed / damage, Encumberance / Effectiveness)...
