That's exactly how I play things. I get things for people. I do things the way the mob does things. I'm a respectable businessman, I'm generous, I'm friendly, but don't cross me, or you'll regret it.
But no outright stealing. If something "falls off the back of a truck," I will buy it and pass the savings on to you.
I don't know what you all are talking about...I'm just a modest business woman who imports clothing and food. I don't do anything that would break the law.
I don't know nothing about criminal activities. I'm completely legit.

I ask you then, to what end?
Where do we draw the line and say we're just "generic criminals" and not "Smugglers." Should i lobby for a /RobBank skill? For an /Arson skill? Maybe a /WalkOutOfResturantWithoutPaying skill?
I think the vast majority of Smugglers would tell you they'd rather not craft spice. Spice crafting was implimented because the devs didn't have the time or inclination to create a fully realize Smuggling system. And i believe slicing was originally devised as a way for individual Smugglers to improve their own equipment, thus making them more competitive if they got into trouble. It wasn't originally invisioned as a massive suplimental crafting system. And FP sales was something to do since we couldn't technically Smuggle.
In other words, our skills kinda morphed into "criminal" skills because there wasn't a way at the time to "Smuggle." (I know Smuggling is a particular criminal sub-set, but we're talking semantics here.) My post above simply meant I'd prefer they develop a way for me to do what my specific title says i can do instead of turning my profession into a more generic, all encompassing criminal profession.

LOL, ending up on the BH terms for pickpocketing...guess they could give those bounties to the Investigation II BHs.
Then we could have a Peeing-on-sidewalk skill and if we get caught they send the Investigation I BHs after us.
Hell, I'd be peeing at the steps of Theed Palace just so I could kill newbie BHs.

i just had a idea
we are criminals ie we make spices which is illegal we slice wpns and armor which is also illegal
are you now telling me we are top end criminals? the classey and snoody of the law breakers.
its a bit of role playing...im not saying that we should pick the pocket and get 1 mill credts or something
but if your found out your imp faction goes down or reb does depends of who you pickpocket
also if your realy a bad boya bounty can be put on your head...low to mid lvl BH's can get that.
Oh i dont want to be a petty thief...then dont use the skill.

Huh, hadn't realized you were asking for help with anything...
But personally the only thing that's come close to making ME quit Smuggler has been the addition of lame-ass things like frog bowls and non-functional gaming tables while we all wait two years for SMUGGLING.

Funny 99% of the people who come here talk about how helpful this community is, more over many of us try to help new players as much as possible. Im alwaysamazed at how someone can come in here find we dont agree with him/her then flame us with some BS about not being helpful or trying to impressing 13yr olds. You want to see a lack of help? You wanna really get flamed? Go the the GCW forum then come talk to us Jr. Now you really dontwanna keep this up cause if I start flaming you Im gonna make you cry and no one wants that.
