Believe it or not, up until about about 3-4 weeks ago I had every Master Smuggler that I ever had contact with in my friend list.


As far as my intent of the prior posting, it was more to encourage acceptance of whoever they choose. This is not a democracy and we will be 'stuck' with their choice. Once that choice is made, we can either yell and scream how much we disagree (with no change) ... or we can accept and work together to get everything we want. I am confident that they will choose a good person because there are several top-notch Smugglers that have applied (including myself), or they will apply shortly.


I sincerely believe that we (as a whole) will be happy with the resolution, although everyone may not agree. Some people think I am the best candidate, some do not. If I do not get it, I do not want people that would support me being upset (and vice-versa)... I want them to work together to get our revamp done rather than waste time at complaining about a correspondent.


The working together will achieve much more ... regardless of the satisfaction level of the selectee.

If they choose someone that you do not think will do 1/4 of the job that Caylin has ... then they will not be able to do anything. Don't shoot yourself in the foot ... the people that are going to apply will do so because they care and want to help. In addition, not everyone will be happy with any choice and you should remember that not everyone was happy with Caylin at first.


Any choice that the Devs makes deserve a fair shot to get the job done.

And.. Geevo, yea if they are 1/4 the corr Caylin was then they wont get crap done hence why I started this we need someoen who can live up to the shoes they are gonna try to fill..and Yes I do fear for a dev lapdog being put in, someone to say yes and answer by rote to TH's and the devs questions.


But I will give anyone who applies and is accepted a fair shot, they deserve no less.

I agree with Geevo, the way we best represent ourselves is for the people that feel that they can best represent us to apply for the position. The devs know that we are vocal in what we want, however, we just need to stop posting about what we want and start doing something about it. If 500 folks say they want to be the correspondant, that will be HUGE as it will show that there are many of us that are deeply concerned about the development of this profession.


So, if you want something to change, I say apply....either you are part of the solution or you are part of the problem...by just idly sitting by and randomly posting here, you are just part of the problem. By applying, no matter what you think your qualifications are in comparrison to others, you become part of the solution as you are taking an active role in the development of this profession.

Well the dev's gave some silly rules about applicants like having to be a comm leader in the forums. I am too new to the game (8 months) to have had 3k posts worthwhile to post. But I also intend to apply, I may not get chosen but Ill be damned if I am not willing to do it if poicked, I love smuggler ass a prof, since I was a little girl I had a crush on Han. Smugglers are why I still play a game with little or no interesting vontent and a serious disregard for continuity.

But yes, I agree with Geevo, if you care, apply. Show them that any of us would willingly hoe the road Caylin just finished on.

If I were interested in actually taking this position, I would have looked at one of the other Corr Opening posts, gotten the address, and already sent in my application with Smuggler Correspondent in the subject line.


That's basically all they're going to ask for when they make an "official" post here anyway.


For those that ARE interested, I suggest actually doing this. That will probably help shorten the transition time whenever they actually decide to start processing the applications.

For whatever it's worth... Caylin might be leaving, and as tough as that may be, the community will still live on. We can only hope the new Correspondant will be as open-minded.

Well of COURSE we want a suitable correspondent. And I think your comment about our previous correspondents was unfair. Lodek wasn't HERE long enough, but what time he was here he began some good and interesting initiatives. The problem was they all became VERY moot very quickly (as they were just one more, "tell us what YOU think is wrong and we'll get back to you" busy-work lists from the dev's). Then he had RL issues of moving up and moving on. So, while I agree that Caylin is the bomb, and the best so far, let's not go dragging out our past correspondents as that's not really productive nor fair.

I never said our past correspondants hun as I didnt know them my statement was directed at the current state of the game, Caylin is more active than any other correspondant I have seen. And by no means do I frequent every board. My apologies if I was unclear.
