Thread: Attention Devs; Petition for a suitable correspondant replacement

Attention to our Dear Developers,
We, the Smuggler Community by signing this petition are asking for a special care to be taken in the replacement of our dear Caylin, through Caylin we have had the amazing kind of representation our underdeveloped, underappreciated profession sorely needed.
Please do not just hand Caylin's title over to just anyone.
We are in a serious state of flux at the present time and we need a good correspondant to prepare us for GreenMarine's return to our profession.
We do not need a DEV lapdog. Caylin was always willing to go toe to toe with you all about smuggler issues, even if approaching you with them put him against you, he did what was needed to be done for our profession.
What we need is a Smuggler who cares about Smuggling, who is intelligent, daring, and reasonable. What we need is someone in line with all the suggestions Caylin has funneled down as acceptable to forward, someone who knows where we, the Smugglers of this game stand on issues facing our profession. To give us a bad correspondant at this time would compound insult with an injury left untended since beta.
This is not a threat nor is it meant to be threatening. We don't just ask for this, we NEED this. Thank you for your time in readin our petition, The Smugglers.

gah lol I can get 5 stars, and 23 viewing but no sigs
Cmon smugglers, dont just 5 star me, sign it, and know you may have an impact on who replaces our dear Caylin, hell I wouldnt mind seeing Caylin's sig as the fiorst after mine. But thats wishful thinking.

although I don't believe that GreenMarine will return and if he does we all know darn well that he won't actually do anything constructive other than distract us,

I think the best thing that we can do is apply. I would suspect that the Devs know what they are looking for and that is who they will pick regardless. When Caylin was first chosen, some were not happy but he did a job that far exceeded most peoples expectations.
I am really sorry to see Caylin go, but completely understand, however the best method we have is to ensure that the most qualified people apply. I will apply after they make the posting, and already have applied a bit premature as well. I hope I am not the only on the 'recommended list' because I am not even sure if I am 'best' for the job, however I will bust my butt to ensure that I do the best I can.
If the Dev's pick someone else, I will give them my full support, and I hope that everyone else does as well.

No, I cant say I would givce support to just anyone the Devs pick, Look at alot of the other correspondants. NONE of them are 1/4 the corr Caylin was, and we cant have 1/4 the correspondant at a time when we need 2 more lIke Caylin and Caylin as well....

yeah, and Caylin's still around and getting things done/trying to get answers!! even AFTER quitting!!
although, i suppose he said he'd stay aruond until replaced, didn't he?

Till I run out of time or they find my replacement from the applications they should be getting when they get around to making their official post.
A correspondent who is capable of listening to, understanding,strongly representing and interacting with their forum through the good and bad times is fundamental. The devs have made some good choices in correspondents in the past, I only hope they continue to do so.

several days ago
several days ago I also sent a PM asking if it was premature or if I should re-submit upon the official announcement. I have not gotten a response from the PM.

Do you really think that the Devs will pick someone that they do not think will do the job? I am sure that they will pick the most qualified that they can find. The DO make good choices (remember, they have given us good Correspondents in the past)

Geevo hun please dont fight with people choosing to sign this we are not saying the devs are gonna inherantly pick bad, nor are we saying that we wont give who they pick a chance, we are merely saying we need a hard working commited advocate to aid us in ever seeing a true fix to our dear porofession.

Geevo's the one to represent us in my opinion.
Edited: I really do not understand the point of this thread. The devs have shown only the best judgement when selecting correspondents in the past, I don't see why this would change now.

Kells I respect your opinion on this but this thread is not a debate over who is most qualified,...that debate will, I am sure arise eventually. Though I agree, Geevo yields alot of my respect and has done so since I was on Intrepid with him. Though remeber me he may not lol....
