Every one in the Imperial army or Navy needs some attention, since they are on duty they have no way of spending all their money, except for single priviledges...

That's the way i see the Imperial Smuggler, we don't bring bacta tanks or grenades crates to the headquarters, we provide services to the guys inside the headquarters, guys that have credits in proportion with their egos.

On a side note those guys may be able to help you in some troubles if you're cool with them. Be it by telling you where the customs don't look, or by getting you out of jail if you're caught (even though i agree you should better not try to verify this one).

That's actually quite a nice vision for Imperial Smugglers . I'd also envisaged Imps getting high tech, illegal or just the 'newer' stuff for Governors and high ranking officials that always want to stay ahead of their rivals and show off their shiny toys in a bid to show how powerful and great they were, but your description seems to fit better
