Thread: an Imperial Smuggler in full 'troopa garb?

ok ok...i get it - any race or gender or political persuasion can all be ANY class...hey! cool, right?
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why am i gettin' "searched" by IMP soldiers?...i'd think it's 'cause i'm a Reb Rodian wielding sliced weaps...[i remember back when an armor slice was cool.../cry.../weep.../gnash-teeth]
whatever...if the Empire is against slicing, then why in the name of all that doesn't suck is there ever such a tihing as an Imperial Smuggler? It's the idiocy rubbed in my face that really tears me up. Why can't there be FACTION SPECIFIC classes??????? Again, an Imperial Smuggler?...especially in 'troopa garb??!!??!?!?!? Gimme a friggin' break!!
Smug should be Reb/Neut only...IMPs could have their own classes too: Taxman, Public-Accountant, Vader-Bootlicker...all the buttkissin' things
might make more sense
I hide my "smugglerness" from the empire. As an RPer, I've had loads of fun 'evading' the empire while trying to slice someone's weapon or whatever.
It works man. Remember - there are always 2 sides to the fence - and even Han Solo was in the Imperial Academy.

The way I see my character is when he's "working" for the Empire he isthe unit's scrounger. I mean just because the Empire has all the cool toys doesn't mean the front line troops always have the tools they need. Plus imperials get the desk asa faction perk.

Exaclty. I used to play an Imperial Colonel Smuggler. The idea is that I would get the best weapons and armor for my toops, as well as be able to to enhance their abilites with smuggled spices. Got it keep it on the DL from the higher ups, but I'm going to do whatever I can to save the lives of my men and increase the effectiveness of our unit. Sometimes when we need a base of operations or artillery support, a little bride to my superioirs can go a long way. Its war out there, I'm not letting my buddies die if I can help it.

Speak for yourself. You may be, but not all of us are like that. I'm a hell of a nice guy. Just don't get upset when I pull a fast one on you. It's only business.

Actually, in my perspective it makes more sense to be a smuggler and be an Imperial. What better environment to smuggler under than an Imperial dictatorship? When people enjoy freedom there is little need for smugglers except for those few items that are made illegal. On the other hand under a dictatorship tends to create a very large black market. A smuggler can do well in these situations. Why would any smuggler try to change an atmosphere full of potential profit? If anything I woud say a neutral or an Imperial would make more sense. I can of course understand the decision to show Han Solo as the wreckless cavalier who runs in to save the day. The lost sheep who finds the light...blah blah. The rewards from his help were what? Oh yes, Carbonite.
NO he got the princess
/sarcasm on
You know... good point, why would an imperial officer do anything illegal? You have shown me the error in my ways. What's the best way to make up for my transgressions? Should I resign my imperial rank and join the rebel scum? Should I turn over a new leaf and resist the temptations of evil... the quick dollars of illegal gunrunning, spicing and currying favors for cash? Mayve I should just retire forever and find a nice, quiet place in the galaxy to spend my remaining years... preferably somewhere AWESOME with a cantina...
/sarcasm off
I think enough points have been made here to justify being a smuggler whether you're in either faction. Rebels or Imps, nobody's hands are clean. Even the jedi are bathed in blood and corruption, we all know this.
