ok ok...i get it - any race or gender or political persuasion can all be ANY class...hey! cool, right?

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why am i gettin' "searched" by IMP soldiers?...i'd think it's 'cause i'm a Reb Rodian wielding sliced weaps...[i remember back when an armor slice was cool.../cry.../weep.../gnash-teeth]

whatever...if the Empire is against slicing, then why in the name of all that doesn't suck is there ever such a tihing as an Imperial Smuggler? It's the idiocy rubbed in my face that really tears me up. Why can't there be FACTION SPECIFIC classes??????? Again, an Imperial Smuggler?...especially in 'troopa garb??!!??!?!?!? Gimme a friggin' break!!

Smug should be Reb/Neut only...IMPs could have their own classes too: Taxman, Public-Accountant, Vader-Bootlicker...all the buttkissin' things

might make more sense

I hide my "smugglerness" from the empire. As an RPer, I've had loads of fun 'evading' the empire while trying to slice someone's weapon or whatever.

It works man. Remember - there are always 2 sides to the fence - and even Han Solo was in the Imperial Academy.

hehe, to make your BAH even more worth I should tell ya that I also was willing to sell reb HQ vul times as long as the money was right.

Rebels see slicing and drugs ALSO as illegal, in this case its absolutely stupid to say rebel smugglers are better than imp smugglers.

If there was a way to play a good working smuggler without beeing member of a faction (f.e. the need of colonel to sell fp for acceptable prices)I would be first who drop from rebs (I would burst into tears of happiness if we FINALLY would get a REAL neutral faction, I would even prefer to work for theugly hutt than for Mrs Organa). I give a sh!t about your GCW, I am a SMUGGLER, I want to make MONEY, I'm not the welfare! Befor I was reb colonel I even used to switch between the factions at will, depending on where I was able to make the better money and get the rewards I wanted to have. I'm not proud to be rebel nor would I be EVER proud to be imp, I can't even count how often I heard the sentence: "you are a shame for the rebellion!" but, lol, do I care about that?

NO!

Only reason why I chosed to be reb in the end was the cool looking battle armor, AND the additional bonus on buying fp at the recruiter, so its even MORE money for me selling reb fp than imp fp.

If ya want to be a nice and shiny member of any faction ya just CAN'T play smuggler! We are scum, we do illegal things, and the only thing I would really fight for is my own butt!

On Kashyyyk I go out, killing members of the wookiee resistance and let the Empire pay mefor it. If I found a reb who will give me money for kicking trandosh asses, I will do that too!

I play on both sides and only for my self!

That's what a real smuggler is! Beeing smuggler is MUCH MORE than only got the profession tag. I don't even USE the damn titel I got from it, cause it's just dump to wear the "hello, I m a mean criminal"sign on ya jacked.

Even if I drop the smuggler I would still be one, I can get nearly everything for everybody to moderate prices and still make hell of money, I can sell factionarmor for 20% less normal marked price and still have a BIG profit from it, and the reason why I can do that is not that I have a AS alter, I just have REAL underworld contacts, not just the skillbox.

Maybe ya should keep ya bah for yaself, face the reality and seehow a real smuggler is supposed to be.

Han did a big mistake by joining the rebellion not ONLY for the money, same as Thalon Karrde did. You won't see me doing the same mistake!

If I would have to chose to help an imperial Smuggler or a reb of any other profession to save his live, I wouldn't even have to think a second about it and start fiering on the smugglers enemy (except the reb is a hot chick, in this case I would take a second to take a closer lo.., erm, I mean to think about it...)

so, thats my 50 cent to what's a smuggler issupposed to be, and now, WHERE IS MY PIE?!?

EDIT: I'm reb, but I also got the imp desc! And I'm happy to have it and getting not tired to show it to anyone who visites my house!

Exaclty. I used to play an Imperial Colonel Smuggler. The idea is that I would get the best weapons and armor for my toops, as well as be able to to enhance their abilites with smuggled spices. Got it keep it on the DL from the higher ups, but I'm going to do whatever I can to save the lives of my men and increase the effectiveness of our unit. Sometimes when we need a base of operations or artillery support, a little bride to my superioirs can go a long way. Its war out there, I'm not letting my buddies die if I can help it.

selling imperial vuln times you say? It's a dickish move, but if you're a smuggler, (especially on starsider) then it's all fair game. It's all about the credits, the twi'lek chicks, and the nice pistol in my holster.

Speak for yourself. You may be, but not all of us are like that. I'm a hell of a nice guy. Just don't get upset when I pull a fast one on you. It's only business.

Actually, in my perspective it makes more sense to be a smuggler and be an Imperial. What better environment to smuggler under than an Imperial dictatorship? When people enjoy freedom there is little need for smugglers except for those few items that are made illegal. On the other hand under a dictatorship tends to create a very large black market. A smuggler can do well in these situations. Why would any smuggler try to change an atmosphere full of potential profit? If anything I woud say a neutral or an Imperial would make more sense. I can of course understand the decision to show Han Solo as the wreckless cavalier who runs in to save the day. The lost sheep who finds the light...blah blah. The rewards from his help were what? Oh yes, Carbonite.

You know... good point, why would an imperial officer do anything illegal? You have shown me the error in my ways. What's the best way to make up for my transgressions? Should I resign my imperial rank and join the rebel scum? Should I turn over a new leaf and resist the temptations of evil... the quick dollars of illegal gunrunning, spicing and currying favors for cash? Mayve I should just retire forever and find a nice, quiet place in the galaxy to spend my remaining years... preferably somewhere AWESOME with a cantina...

/sarcasm off

I think enough points have been made here to justify being a smuggler whether you're in either faction. Rebels or Imps, nobody's hands are clean. Even the jedi are bathed in blood and corruption, we all know this.
