I knew the powerup thingy was illegal, but still, I thought they added up to 40 or 45% slices on weapons for Master Smuggler in one of the recent patches...

Why should SOE stay quiet on this? Making an announcement in the MOTD screen will serve the purpose.

Today MOTD just posted about the bug about consuming HALVA. How many Doctors do you think consume HALVA as compare to the number of smuggler who is exploiting the PU slicing?

Obviously, SOE developers aren't even thinking that this is a serious enough problem that warrant immediate attention despite being reported in the last few months.

Post official announcement via Proper Channel. Not via word of mouth, Not via some Correspondant, Not via Players, and definitely not via replying to a forum posting about any policy position.

80% of the players i know don't visit/read the forum.

Players pay to play the game. Not to attempt to read what the developers think what is right and what is wrong.

Agreed

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

You know, if SOE isn't treating it as a "Game Breaking Exploit" then why should we? I mean honestly, 50 points of damage. Whooptefreakindo. In pvp thats what 12 points of damage? I can't believe the fit people are pitching over this, when there are much bigger and badder problems to be worried about. Until SOE comes out and says this is a No-No, and I mean PEX or one of the other devs or even Caylin, consider it an undocumented feature. If you feel its unfair, don't do it. Until then, find something worthy of your breath to gripe about.

You should treat is as an exploit because Sony is. It isalready stated you will be banned if you are found using this exploit, and this will go back 6 months if necessary.

So, if you would like to continue to do this type of slicing, go ahead. But please do not come here griping about your banned account when that happens.

There are missions in which you "deliver an item while hostiles attack you" in every profession. I still don't consider [Smuggler's Alliance] pilots to be Smugglers, nor 'Smuggling' - at least not any more than Rebel Pilots or Imperial Pilots might sometimes "smuggle", with a lower-case s - JFreeman - 10/6/04

Hey thanks for the 1 star, you can't convince me you are right by being a jackass. I never said I did it. As a matter of fact I specifically do not do slices for anyone using the questionable method. If SOE has ever come out and said "This is an exploit." do us all a favor and link the post and end the discussion. I personally feel that it is an exploit, however its so minor I can't even begin to imagine why someone would care. In the mean time try to calm down and act like an adult. Cheers.

1) I have the rating system turned off and don't give anyone any stars, good or bad. Thank you for assuming I was the one that gave you the 1 star.

2) I'm not sure why you thought I wasn't 'calm' from my post. Maybe you're so upset you think everyone is attacking you?

3) No, you didn't say you were doing this exploit, and I apologize for using the wording "continuing". The sentence should have been "If you would like to do this type of slicing, go ahead." Again, wasn't upset at you.

4) Thanks for the profanity and insults.

5) Here is a CSR in-game saying the powerup 'trick' is an exploit: http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=117824&poll_id=0&warned=y

6) Our Smuggler Correspondent has been told from developers that this is an exploit.

1) Mea Culpa. I apologize

2) See number 1. I assumed it was you since there was only 1 response. Yes this is the typical reaction from bitter smugglers, lol shoot first, screw the questions, shoot em again.

3) We both assumed too much.

4) No profanity. Jackass is an animal, known for both its obstinancy and irritability. for an example see my above post.

5)CSR's are just regular players like you and me. Even that picture references conflicting idea's on policy by CSR's. I would really love to see something official stickied here in our forums.

6) I would love to see it stickied here so this issue could be put to bed.

Once again, my apologies.

Oh, You people are gay. Do you all really have nothing better to do then try to figure out who knows how to do the power up slicing? Come on. I can't count how many people including smuggler's who have either told me or asked me to do this. It's a simple bug who cares. I would slice every weapon I had like this if I didn't know some homo would go and cry about it because he didn't get the one he wanted from me. I swear you guys act like someone stole something from you everytime somebody does something you don't like.

Last time I refused to slice someones stuff (since I don't slice for the public anymore due to their attemps to tell me my slicing price) I was flamed on the forums and accused of selling credits on Ebay. All for a stupid slice I wouldn't do. This guy who posted this on the other servers forums even if it is true is a retard cheap **edit**. Who most likely didn't have enought to buy the weapon so instead of getting it decides if I can't have it no one can. Then the all wise community leader here thinks its his job to infor us of whats going on and who the guilty person it. Grow up. Its a game. Sorry your life sux so bad you have to live here rather than play for fun.

PS Why don't you use you great cry baby talents and get the crates fixed for slicing.

Some non PVP got killed so now they are finding ways to figure out why they can't pvp. Thats about it. Just like the guy who you kill that feels the need to send you 30 tells about his moun downer. Whats next moun downers are an exploit if you kill someone on it.

On a personal note to maloso. Are you kidding? The whole reason people play this game is for (you said it) fun. Lets you and me invent a game inside of our minds right now.... Okay, in our game one side has inferior weapons and the other has superior weapons. What do you think will be fun about this game? Lets say that each of these players works equaly hard to obtain their weaponry, but still one side has an advantage.

The side with superior weaponry will have a blast, but statistically the side with inferior weaponry will not. The side with superior weaponry eventually finds winning too easy and moves onto the next game. The side with the weaker weaponry might tire of losing and go find another game.

If we can invent a game in our minds where the weapons are of about equal strength, our game will thrive for much longer and be much more of a enjoyable challenge to our players.

Now I have to end this post with a message brewing from deep inside of me: WTH? You have no idea what game balance is??? *SSSLLLAAAPPP!!!!!!*
