Now I don't post much in these forums, I mostly read them for tips, guidance, and inspiration.Not a knock to those who post often but I find my time better spent playing the game, however Bria is down....yes again lol.
I have been a Master Smuggler for a month or two now. I will agree it is a unique profession and the types of situations that we rogues get ourselves into are priceless, and hey, the credits aren't too shabby too
I am posting this in reply to this message because I found it very well written. I was pondering about dropping smuggler (well...most of it) to fall into the pit that is "making my char uber in PvP" but after sauntering back into the Smuggler forum and reading this, I have decided to forgo making my char into a fighting machine and continue on with my shady ways of operating within the galaxy.
Despite the obvious ignorance we smugglers get from the devs, I still have alot of fun with this and thanks to this message and thread overall for reminding me of this fact. I will hang on till JTL and beyond for the fabled Smuggler revamp. And if it never comes, so be it, becasue this is the one profession that I've forgot about how strong my char is, but to actually roleplay a bit and have some actual fun
DISCLAIMER- I just woke up hungover on spice and Brandy and don't feel like re-reading my post to edit. I think i repeated some sentiments over a few times lol

The community in the smuggler forums is overwhelmingly one of the best. Plus, there is that sort of charm to being a smuggler. It just feels..right.

ThunderHeart : "to understand smuggler will, i decided to become a smuggler myself... When i got master after 1 minute of grinding (hail to the /SetSkill MasterSmuggler), i decided to slice the smuggler revamp to make better, faster, stronger....
But i failed the slice because i didn't knew i needed a molecular clamp to know which wire i needed to cut
Result is that the computer where we were testing the revamp and collecting all smuggler revamp informations shutted down immediatly after i cut the red wire of the power cable.
We lost all work and information
I now really understand why you feel such alone and forget profession
So i decided to enhance your profession to make it great !
Now, you will be able to slice terminals to get more informations, money, and faction points.... Because i wanted to be able to slice the computer to get all good ideas
When we 'll collected all informations again about smuggler on the previously sliced computer, i'll try to slice it again to know exactly what you need...
We love you smugglers !

The "Chuckle for a Smuggler" Thread is good enough for mebut there are plenty of people who are disappointed with the other professions as well *shrug*.
I like the profession allows me to do a little bit of everything.I'm not the best in a fight but I can fight. I'm not the best crafter but I can craft and make sellable items.
As asmuggler, as long as you can get your hands of a little bit of copper and yell "Slicing.... " or (as I perfer) throwing up the title, making myself searchable and lurking near the starport, you'll never be broke.
As said before, role playing potential is awesome.
As a Master Smuggler, it's nice to take a FWG5 that sells for 5k and get a really good slice and sell it for 50k+. Even someone with slicing 2 could turn a good profit with20%+ slice.
Sometimes people dump cheap resources a 1 credit per unit and it works just as good in all the tools and spice ( I want to make spice competive with food but I am going to miss buying junk resources and not having quality matter. Ya can't have both... ).
Feign Death in PvE ( I know that it broke, so I usually do a search for some heavy combat profession and find someone willing to finish the mission and kill the mob aggroing on me. It usually dosn't take long to find someone willing to get in an extra mission and get a 50% cut.)

Wish I could but as of now Smuggler offically SUCKS ASS. I mean before at least we could slice. But now we have to take each tool out and do it. That's GAY. SOE Should be set on fire.
