I just triedFD against a Storm Trooper. He would not db me or incap me while FD, but he would come after me when I stood up. Tried this several times before I just let him incap me, which he did and then DB'd me. I had just come from the cloner when I tried this, so I was not overt/special forces whatever it is now. I attacked him. He was leaving me alone until I did.

I am going out now to try this on some random MOBs just to make sure it is the same.

So like I said, FD isn't changing in PvE (no indication it ever was btw /smug =D), and is now useless in PvP... well um, so??? You Fd in front of a player and he/she's just gonna get it in their heads to black bar you, give you 1000bf and wreck your armour. I admit it would have be nice if they'd mentioned in the notes that "this is a fix to prevent FD working in pvp, which it was never intended for".

PS The area attacks ofcreatures like krayts can only hit you while FD if you are too close to the creature and it is attacking something else, and well, if you were really FD beside a krayt it isn't magically not going to step on you...

Man... FD used to come in a little handy (not much but a little), but now it's completely useless. Gah... figures. Smugglers get one fix and two broken things. One step forward, two steps back.

I just ran across a player placed Strategic Base...VERY cool!

It's basically laid out like the base where you start the Rebel themepark on Corellia.

Though, the recruiter doesn't give you an option to buy one...so, I have no clue how to get my hands on one. I'm guessing they were an option, but were removed for some reason, hopefully to be added back later.

They come complete with bank terms, insurance terms, and a cloner. Could be very handy.

Along with faction NPCs, we need to test this out against high level mobs and NPCs like say Nightsisters in addition to the faction NPCS. I'll try to create a guy on TC-Gorath this evening, but I think it's something that needs to be tested by as many people as possible. (I've got to lead all my noob friends from rl through some missions so they can get some xp.)

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Well...as far as high level NPCs, I feigned against some Nova troopers (200k HAM, high resists) earlier (yeah, I went Rebel on TC just for the hell of it), and they didn't incap or DB me...

For creatures, I've only tested against Baz Nitches, since it was easy to get a mission for them and insta-spawn them...and I knew they would DB me before I hit the ground if it were a true incap type deal.

I'll head to the krayt graveyard in a little bit though, and try it against one of those to see what happens.

I hope that Smuggler gets something out of this combat revamp but I don't thinkit willsince it seems that Tyrant's post on revamp info this week is probably hallow.

when you say that in PvE situations it's as before, does it implies that DBing mobs can't DB you while FD? What about NPCs (for instance factionnal NPC) ?
Sorry i don't have time to go and check by myself, and by the way, thanks for the update.

Exactly, no change. Once Feigned DBing mobs don't incap nor DB you, factional NPC neither.

Ok...FD in PvP...

I just dueled a random guy near one of the frogs...

Accepted the duel, and immediately hit FD...

I went down, got the incap timer, he hit me 2 more times, and I was slain...

Not much more to say about it.

FD is now officially useless in PvP.

Now i'm really fuggin pissed! Feign Death was a tactic I used in pvp. If I was in a battle with buddies and we were evenly matched or close in numbers and it looked like I was going down, then i'd FD. A buddie would throw a heal on me, or heal the all the stupid azz dots that put me in that position, and then i'd get back up and join the fight. A tactic that has worked well for me to survive many battles. Now this doesn't work all the time. Two examples that did work for me. And there are a lot more. And I have the triple threat template.

1) While running around overt in cnet with a guildie, who has doc, we jump an overt imp. The guy we were fighting was a good pvp'er. We knew this as we'd fought him before. Well were fighting and about 5 mins into the fight we were doing some what well. He then has a guildie join him, unbuffed, who was a CM. He starts chucking poisons on us. Since I couldn't heal the poisons and my mind went down quick I hit FD. My buddie healed his poison, killed the CM, then came and healed my CM. I got up, popped some canape and gold and quickly got back into the fight. 2 mins later the unbuffed CM shows back up and starts chucking poisons. I immediately hit him and kill him. But not before being poisoned again. So I hit FD, got my heal, got back up and started fighting the original guy again. This happened 3 or 4 times. Had I not had FD then the fight would have been over long before. Had my buddy not been with me I wouldn't have even used FD as it would have been pointless. (And yes i've used it to annoy the opposing faction, but haven't in a long time) We ended up losing the fight after about 15 minutes cause the guy brought in another guildie. So I just took the death and let it go. The original guy then sent me some nasty tells about using FD. But it is a tactic for me to use.

2) I'm running around overt with a bunch of my guildies. We started to gather in Entha to go kill krayts when a DJK loads into the SP. I start hitting him, 3 other guildies join in and the fight is on. Well the DJK was on me first and of course the LS goes right through me. So I hit FD. The DJK starts hitting me while on the ground while my 3 guildies keep on hitting him. His mistake. As the DJK runs off to fight someone else, i hop back up and start fighting. We incapped the jedi, but i think he had force of will or had some lucky heal to pop him back up so we couldn't db him. We ended up losing when he had support show up. At that point FD would have been useless to even use. So I accepted the death.

The point i'm trying to make is that FD is a USEFUL tactic when used properly in pvp. But now that's its been nerfed in pvp a very good tactic for me to use has been removed. I'm none to happy about that.

Thank you Drev for supplying the reputable proof of which I spokw of in that "other" thread (shudder). I can fully endorse this change since they are not going to back down fromit, and it doesn't affect PvE FDing.; which was my only major concern.

I still don't agree that it shouldn't work in PvP, but can accept it and move on. I think there should be some other escape mechanism that they should give us to compensate...but that won't happen until any revamp or CURB changes.

Again thankd Drev for swinging the bat for us, and thank LW and the others who have gone on TC-Gorath and got our hard facts for us.

I have tested FD on TC-Gorath also. It is as Dreven describes.

Something funny is going on with BH's getting group TEFs and made attackable by a Jedi's group, even though the BH themself isn't set to PvP-enabled.

So Dreven...just so I'm clear...

In PvE when you Feign Death, can you still get incapped?

And if so, can the same MOB triple incap you to death from that re-aggro?

PvE remains exactly as it is now. You FD and the mobs leave you alone until you decide to get up.

You could potentially suffer triple incap if you don't wait long enough for your HAM to regen before you stand up, and get reaggroed and incapped by the same mob 3 times in 10 minutes...

So they don't incap you at death? Okay. See, that's ALL I wanted to know. I no longer care about the FD nerf.
