That's exactly what happened to me: started at 100 credits per %, moved to 3K, 5K, and yet I was overhelmed by requests - more than I could handle.
7K is the right price for me: I still slice a lot, but not so much to be costantly in need of tool crates.

I used to charge a flat rate of 5K, then I learned there are many other
ways to make money a whole lot faster than slicing. So now I charge 7K
per slice. If they gripe the price goes to 10K per slice.

i charge 10k a slice, unless its a 'smith that has hundreds of items. i still hit them up though because i see the things i sliced being sold for upwards of 75k-350k for a chest plate for example(insane)

i am usually buffed, running BH missions or slicing money missions on dant, easier money without the monotony for me.

i give my old friends slices for free and will slice free for noobs(havent seen many of those these days).

i have had a very few balk at it and try to haggle with me and not really wanting to be bothered anyway i summarily respond to them each time with a 1k per slice increase til they stop trying to get a better rate and agree to pay or decide the will seek out another master smuggler. there are plenty running around that slice for 1k or for free. I dont sweat it cause i still make my cheddar

if i have time i will break it dont to someone as to why i charge what i do, in addition to some of my points here; i can make money faster running missions on dant, i am usually buffed doing this. it takes us a lot of effort to master and what we do is permenant over the lifespan of the items we slice so its not like it will be gone in 3 hours; unless you have really low condition on a weapon in the first place lol.

these are just my guidlines, what i go by, a year ago it was profitable to slice but just like the economy its a saturated market and competition can be fierce es[ecially for up and coming smugs and new masters, unless they find other avenues of revenue. to each is own and what works for some doesnt work for others.
