Everyone and their grandma is getting their knickers sliced - by smugglers in the middle of Coronet. There is no danger, no risk of being an outlaw - we're even allowed in cities.
But a close No.2 are the customersWe're going to need a disclaimer hotkey soon, if sliciing isn't made illegal.
Yeah I feel that same way. Come on, arrest me!

My favorite customer, "Hi, can you please slice my DE-10, i'll pay you."
I didn't say it, but I wanted to say "**** right you will, or I'll keep it until you do."

Customers be advised:
Slicing an 'uber' weapon cannot possibly ruin it. Sure, it may not cause 35% more damage, but your weapon is noworse off. So shut up. =)
Customers who sigh or slightly whimper when they hand over 15 or even more weapons, maybe even a crate, and they don't get the 35% damage slice. It's RANDOM. The mere fact that damage is what you want cosmically makes me do more speed slices. I swear that's how it works sometimes. I know handing me more weapons gives you a better chance of ending up with one good slice, but it does jack towards me making that slice. You can hand me a hundred weapons and you can still not get a 35% damage. I'll be pissed, and you'll be pissed, but there's nothingthat either of us can do about it.I'll go a week without a 35% damage, and then I'll give 3 toone client in one day. Who knows?
If someone standing next to me in Coronet and we are not spatialchatting, assume theyare getting slicing. Then, assume I am getting at minimum 3 more tells under thatrequesting slicing. Trying to slice a suit composite, /reply the percents to the client (if requested), AND jumble tells with 3 or morepeople IS VERY DIFFICULT AND FRUSTRATING. /reply, no wait, /tell, no wait, /reply, /reply, /tell, wait crap, /tell... sheesh.
Consider yourself LUCKY to get the slice you want at 25% or better. I consider 25% and up GOOD. Why? Because it could have been WORSE!
You are NOT entitled to my services. If I'm out of gear, heading somewhere, or generally busy: TOO BAD. If I can afford to stop, I will, but there are no guarantees. It's not my duty to be stocked for you; it's not my duty to make myself free for you; it's not my duty to serve you.
The following quotes (accurate spelling, diction and punctuation included FREE), followed by exactly what I'm thinking:
"Splice for me 3 wepons I have too make this shuttel." I have to make the shuttle too, sport.
"Dude only use the best tools rightI dont want a crappy splice." I'm using the crappiest resources I can find, bro.
"What you take my stufffirst than tell me you are charging!" Use common sense... How long you been playing this game?
"Do you have time to slice real quick?... 5 weapons andtwo suits." Yea I have time to slice *A* weapon real quick.
"U R A MASTER u should get better slices automaticaly!" *sigh*
"35% speed is good but damage would be best." If I could choose this would be a 25K slice and not a 3K slice...
"Her use these special weapon upgraded kits I got, theyll slice better, my freind gave themt o me." *sigh*
"Thanks dude gl."[leaves without paying] Not cool, bro-seph.
"What ru a noob my frined gets me 40% damadge slices all the time!!!" Then use your damn friend!
Remarkably, I have been charging 5K straight-up for smallorders since the Crating Nerf(unless it's painfully obvious it's someone I can forsee complaining) and I haven't gotten one complaint. I consider small orders are like 4 or 5 items. I've been charging slightly less for bigger orders, like 2 suits or 10 weapons and the like... usually no less than 3K though and people don't seem to mind paying whatever I put out there. It's just the general smugglerness that gets on my nerves. I know no one is doing this on purpose, but when you deal with it EVERY DAY is what kills me. But I have to do it to earn my money so I persist. As a non-PvP Pistoleer Smuggler there's not much for me to do other THAN slice til JTL, except for travel around or do the odd-quest every now and then. I'm maxxed on all possible Smuggler/Pistol XP's except Combat (from learning Rangedcombat over and over for people) and I'm maxxed on AP, so there's not much I can do.
One final word: I don't care who the F you are: treat your smugglers with respect; treat them well and it will come back on you tenfold. We seem to be a dying breed, the hardcore non-hologrindmasters who WANT to be there. All it takes is all of us removing our tags andyou are royally screwed. No more 14% faster T21's for y'all.

Customers who think I can choose the type of slice, but didn't do a damage slice like they wanted. And proceed to argue about it.
Idiots who think a Master needs slicing XP so bad that he'll do it for free. For you, the price just tripled.
That stupid m**********r who tried the fake bank tip on me yesterday. Who's got your DX2 now, huh?
That stupid color chart when slicing composite. I keep wanting to make everything pink just so SOE gets a lot of complaints.
Arrogant fools who think they're going to tell me how much they're paying for the slice on their Krayt T-21, and threaten to sic their guild on me when I laugh. Next time, I'm keeping the weapon.
The guys who challenge you to a duel because they didn't get the slice they wanted. I'm gonna wait until you're busy getting a ticket, then you're getting HS3 as fast as I can spam it from across the hall.
The ones who offer to trade you rug thread or something in lieu of payment, after you've already sliced their stuff. I want rug thread, I'll go beat the snot out of some thugs, thanks. Where's my cash?
The guys who think I should slice their containers for free. Find a novice, bunghole. I charge. You refuse to pay, I'm keeping it.
The suckhole who nagged me for a slice while I was in the middle of a bunch of Rancors. Your arse is mine, I ever see you again.
The fact that Masters don't have a higher low end to the slicing range. C'mon, I should not be doing the same slices as someone with Slicing 1 at the low end.

I know i'm not allowed to say anySmuggler abilities 'don't suck' 'cause i've tried that before and been flamed to hell for it...
Aww, what the hell... Slicing Doesn't Suck. Hell if i just sliced yourgeo blaster/de-10/super uber rifle for 11% speed, it's 11% faster than it was before! How does that suck? 'cuase you didn't get 35% damage well guess what? Not everyone who plays the lottery wins the millions either.. it's a gamble, deal.
What is an annoyance (not that it makes the whole ability suck) is people getting fined only 200 credits for being caught with sliced weapons. Hence No Legal Repercussions.

I've been pretty lucky on the Krayted/Acklayed/Uber weapon slices so far.
I hate it when people claim you stole stuff from their container. Some people get WAY too excited about those things, like the mysteries of the universe will be revealed when they get unlocked. Well, I think it's pretty mysterious when the universe choosed to favor us with cheap weapons in an effort to help us find the meaning of life.
As far as this autopull thing goes, someone was telling me that it's not that bad, earlier this evening. Well, it could be worse, BUT... if I click the wrong crate or hit the wrong F-key, I now have a WUK or an AUK that I'm not going to use any time soon taking up space in my inventory. I have to stop and figure out which crate is which in the hotbar. It can get confusing at times, which is why I won't do any big lines of people anymore. I just slice for the guildies, and they pay whatever.
One thing I will say about slicing and smugglers in general... Slicing is considered a fairly marketable ability. Perhaps not so much as being a master doctor or a master dancer who can do killer mind buffs, but still a pretty good upgrade ability. I can't say I like the randomness, but the nice thing about it (and the ONLY nice thing about it, mind you) is that it keeps the Uber l33t d00dz out of our profession. Why? Because an uber l33t d00d doesn't get a speed slice when someone wants damage. It'd make them look not-so-uber l33t d00dish. But that's the only benefit I can see.
I also hate when people ask me for a specific slice. It never fails, they always get the opposite. Then they get disgruntled. Really just another reason I rarely slice for people I don't know anymore. It's just become to big of a hassle, and I'd rather spend my time out seeing the galaxy.

Great advice and lessons for a new smuggler such as myself. I had one question though, nightmare mentioned a fake bank tip, what did you mean by that? I have had folks say they banktipped when i darn well know they haven't but is this something different? Just curious. Again, thanks for the heads up on what i am going to be seeing out there and good luck to you all.

I believe nightmare's reffering to... someone sends you an email that looks almost exactly like the email you'd get if someone did actually bank tip you (all the words in the subject and email are the same), just check the sender of the email... if it's fake it'll say the name of the person who sent it to ya, if it's real it says it's from the bank.

Ok thanks Aiden, will pass this along to my guildmates as well, sad to think that folks are to cheap to just pay for it and go to all the trouble to create fake emails..

Yeah the randomness kinda sux. And so does the occasional Jerry's Kids reject I get as a customer. But I think the worst of it is the one annoying guildmate who takes advantage of my "free slicing for guildies" policy. I'm not lying......this one guy has given me about 20 suits of armor and about 50 different weapons to slice all within the past month or so. He's not a smith, and he does not get them for his friends.....he's just a pack-rat. Oh and don't EVEN get me started on the containers he wants me to slice all the time when I keep telling him that he'd be better off grouping them and selling them to n00b smugglers who are trying to work their way up the slicing tree.
