LOL

I'm not sure I have ever both gasped and whimpered at the same time until I read this:

We all agreed that smuggler is an RP profession and should spend 250sp for mastery of it. All content should be created in our minds, ...

sigh.. I seriously did a South-Park-esk "what what what WHAT!?" before I realized this was the begining of a joke.

Whoa, so if I choose Jedi I can expect wads of content to be placed in game for me, but if I choose Smuggler then I have to RP it and pretend it is content?

If I choose ID, I get to force players to visit me if they need stat changes but as a Smuggler I just have to make believe that people need me?

Caylin, I respect what you have done for the community so far, but that statement, especially the use of "ALL CONTENT" is absolute bollocks !!

It sounds like no more than an out for the Devs, enabling themto place little to no time or resources to developing a true Smuggler Prof.

Thanks for the recap Caylin, it sounds like it was a lot of fun and hard work. I'm looking forward to seeing those revised documents next week!

Caylin, we've all been impressed with your work as our correspondent, and you still have my complete support. That said, your reasoning isn't very persuasive, so I will remain skeptical.

Well as I can't give you specifics in any way, how do you suggest I go about telling you about this? I'm hamstrung till those documents are released or they say I can tell you things.

Nice work Caylin

It's good to know that the Devs are finally getting an understanding of what the playre base is saying. Your efforts are appreciated.

I don't want to bring a downer in, but I still have major misgivings - we're still expected to wait until March for a Smuggler revamp that we still have next to no info on, still expected to wait til after JTL for a Combat revamp, and we have no idea of the ETA of any (IF any) profession specific fixes.

And then

There's no alternative endgame to FS for those of us who don't want to pursue it.

JTL doesn't, as it's being described at the moment, contain anyhting special for smugglers.

I know we're talking about taking steps towards a a better game, but I can't help feeling I've been had - the game I paid for last year still doesn't exist, and it may now be midway through next year at the earliest before it comes close.

Sorry if this kills anyone's buzz

Sounds like things went well. I'm trying to be as optomistic as you (and as most the correspondants) 'cause you were actually 'there'. There's one thing that just about makes me weep for the future of Smuggler, however...

I had a chance to talk with Tanks and one of the devs about Smugglers for a while, which turned into a semi-argument where nothing was really accomplished savealot of headaches on their part thinking I'm animbecilewhile Panthu and I tried to get them to understand what I was getting at. She's on our side folks, so support the dancers!

I'm aware that this was a 'Combat Revamp' meeting and this was just something that happened. I'm also praying to all the gods i can remember, that it wasn't OUR dev that you happened to be talking to. Which i don't actually believe it was the way you said "one of the devs", but still it gives me little hope that ANY devs see us as 'Imbiciles".It's good to see that you were still fighting the good fight though.

Yes.. did you make any headway in getting that particular Dev to underestand what you were saying? and if so, did it finally click and did it he agree with what you were saying, or is there an intrenched opposition to smuggling and risk/reward in part of the SOE camp?
