I agree... to be honest, I dont care if stuff changes, if it does change come back say Hey it changed here's why....
Why does it seem like every MMO, I've been apart of, the concept of communication with the player base, the ones paying for the game, is no where to be found.

Because the idiots that run the game or "communicate" with the player base are just that...idiots. These are the morons that huddle together in the computer room at your high school or college and associate with their own kind. If you don't know what they know, you're below them and they treat you as such.
They have no concept of customer service or empathy for their client. I know, I've seen it. I've worked in retail for 4 years now and I see many many people get hired that just don't have people skills. Hell, they can tell you how to rebuild a '72 Chevy or build a 7.6ghz computer out of a toaster and a rubber duck. But you take that person with all that skill in their "hobby" and theycan't even smile and say "hi" to a customer as they pass each other in the isle. And god forbid a customer or client has an issue they need to talk to you about...they get a blank stare on their face and just go quiet or run around looking for "someone else to do it" while the client gets tired of waiting and wonders off. Problem solved from their end...others will be in later to buy stuff and keep the store running.
However, you get people like me. I empathize with my customers. I treat them like I want to be treated. I give them strait answers whether it's what they want to hear or not but I do my best to help them out, even if it includes referring them to another store.
But you can guess which kind of person we have running the show for us.

I would too but you never know.....With their Gestapo-like mannerisms it could happen, if it does u can use my alt. If soe isn't treating us like a bunch of 4-year olds then they treat us like mushrooms(you know keep us in the dark an feed us alot of crap).
The lack of communication is the main reason that will make me cancel my account.
I'm too disgusted with the last couple of day's events to really make a meaningful reply.

I would. They don't seem to be banning anything in this Forum since yesterday. I'd have thought many of us would have been banned or at least our threads locked or deleted. Personally I don't think they want any martyrs on their hands. Silence is about the most intelligent thing they can muster...well that has always been the case apparently.
For me to stay there would have to be an anouncement of SERIOUS SMUGGLING content. And I don't just mean another In Concept post that we discuss for five months only to be deleted with no explanation.
For me THAT (deletion of a five month In Concept thread with no explanation and no discussion AND the bait and switch of the new slicing) is the most telling evidence of all that either;
1. There IS not smuggling content or
2. It is SO different and so watered down from what was In Concept that they don't want us to see it until it's too late.
Please, someone offer me a more plausable explanation...preferable someone at SOE that wants to tell us the truth for a change.

That is why McQuaid went rogue. Say whatever the hell you want to about an "amicable departure," SOE. I am not fooled. He's coming out with a game (vanguard: saga of heroes) which is targeted at YOUR HARDCORE GAMER playerbase. THATshould putSOE intheir rightful place, hopefully at the very bottom of the pile of MMOG companiesto which you are slowly sliding.

I wish I didn't see this post. Not because I feel you're wrong mind you, but because it started stirring up my disgust with this company and how they are handling their customer base. I'm just like Nick. I tend to my customers as I would like someone to tend to me when I walk into a store.
This is my first MMORPG and what a way it is to get introduced to the realm, eh? I can't for the life of me believe that a company can do this to the people that pay them and not see anything negative coming at them to make them think.
Let me stop here before I really go off.
