The only thing is that getting shots to land on Jedi in PvP can be a big pain in the butt. A Jedi with Force Valor on will block or cause misses on 60% of my shots![]()
Dyterium-Pryo +218 to ranged accuracy for 60 seconds w/ 16 fill. Use a Featherweight FWG5 with +15 to Accuracy. When a battle first starts I don't shoot the jedi, it's a waste of time since most will have a full force bar. Let the jedi have their glowie stick wars for a while. I target their healers or other non-jedi.
I did some testing, and while Dyterium Pyro did help, it seemed like over half of my shots were STILL blocked or missed. With no dyterium pyro, I'd say that I missed my Jedi friend 75-80% of the time, but only stated 60% to soften the image that some would give me as a mindless, Jedi hater.
Groups that understand not to tag a baddie right after you hit it with imp concussion shot or imp panic shot are great. And yes I used low blow to train some fencer skills on my character way back when before I went back to Master Dancer. I'd lowblow, click sword, CoB, then charge in. CoB is great to keep in the toolbar for tight situations when you must have that extra D, just click the pistol off, CoB, click re equip.
I am just a pure Smuggler and I do fine. I use the lowbie firearm strike to KD when creatures get too close, then adv reckless shot to imp restraining shot as I run away. Sometimes on low life creatures I imp panic shot them as they close, firearm strike(KD) to adv reckless shot, followed by aim shot and ranged shot. I can usually get off all three before they are fully ready to attack again, and by then they are dead.
I use my DL 44XT and spider fang FWG5 all the time, save when creatures start bombing me from a great distance, then I pull out the adv laser rifle.
I say if you are just CL 55 like me keep around food, drink and spice, also have novice medic to at least x2xx. For bacta toss and bacta shot combo.

When you combine it with combat medic, you end up with 2 -40 attack speed debuffs (low blow and thyroid rupture) - this combo alone is amazing, 2 state reduces (overwhelming and shock), 3 mezzes, 2 with roots (paralyze, concussion and panic), 2 pretty damn powerful dots (each tick about 200-300 every few seconds and last for ages). I also have pistoleer 4000 which gives me warning shot (-80 defense) and improved firearm strike (melee knockdown) and improved body shot (hits about 3-5% weaker than master level reckless shot). From the pvp side you also get a -50 action regen and -50% mind regen attack, and you can heal group mates with an area heal and 2 individual (1 35m range) heal. You also have 2 snares if your into the whole kite big melee opponent thing (gorax, krayts etc.). I absolutley love this combo, its the most fun ive ever had in swg (been commando (pre cu), bounty hunter (post cu), rifleman (pre cu)) and this is my absolute favourite template ive ever had.
Oh, and on top of all that you get the two best titles in the game, Master Smuggler and Rogue, although i do like Clothier too.
The only downside to smuggler, is that the whole time i wasnt a master pilot with a nicely decorated nova i felt completely neutered. Oh and we cant smuggle (although there are a few smuggling missions about if you know where to look).
If there is anything ive forgotten about what makes smugglers great add it in
I have to agree with this. In a lot of cases being the King of Mezzes and stopage of Mobs is an amazing tool to have on any Guild/Group Raid Hunt Field Trip ![]()
I do have one question though. How many of you who have people both on and off a voice server attached a Macro that targets and identifies your next Con Shot target before you fire in order to prevent any unwanted breaks ? To me it seems that is the most difficult thing as largely people aren't used to seeing Roots/Mezzes in SWG.
