Are you actually READING what you post? A Doc is easy, but a WS has to stock up? the WS can BUY the resources just like a Doc. Ooops didn't think about that did you kinda makes you wonder who really is the moron. So tell me what Bio-Clothes do you buy to make your slices better? How much did you pay for those bio-clothes? and the chef food that make your slices better, I forget the name, how much did you spend on that? Oooh that's right you can't make slices any bettter it's all random, and people should pay lots of money for the chacne to get crap.

As far as sliced things being worth more, why don't you make a toon on Naritus and ask Troll why he doesn't sell sliced weapons anymore THEY DON'T SELL, but don't take my word for ask him yourself

Yes People should pay through the nose for a chance to get crap, ITS ILLEGAL. We are smugglers. I dont care what your slice is, give me my money.

I cant keep my vendor stocked, my sliced weapons sell out almost as fast as I put them on my vendor.

*sigh* why do I bother? Someone else is going to have to explain economics to you you just aren't getting it...Do you even remember what you're arguing about?

Economy is a joke in this game. Any decent player with a combat profession can easily make 500k just by hunting.

Doc is hard if you get all the materials yourself... I know... I did it for a month. I even kind of liked it, however it took too much time and RL came in the way. So now you can argue that being a smuggler must be easier since I returned to that. Well I have to say that I do not slice, sell spice nor faction points. At the moment I'm just waiting to become a smuggler and in the meantime I'm doing the big missions on Dant or just whatever I find fun at the moment.

Weather or not a slice is worth more than a set of buffs is really not the issue here. Slices are illegal, buffs are not. Illegal things are always expensive, however the way things are a slice is not really that illegal nor is it worth so much that people will get it sliced if the penalty were severily higher.

My oppinion is, drop the whole buff/slice comparison. It leads nowhere and it's the same as comparing apples and oranges.

I really fear for this game. Everyone wants the most benefits for the least effort or risk. Everyone wants to be able to handle themselves and be independent. Everyone wants to be able to solo anything in this game. Everyone wants to be a Jedi (a bit of exaggeration here), so they can kill anything in the blink of an eye. Mastering a profession is a Joke... doing it right and you can master most professions in a weekend or two if you sit down and really spend your time on this game.

Sorry got a bit carried away here.

I was a Master Doc and Master CM for a month as well. Personally I can't compare the two. I'm a Master Smuggler/Master Commando and am about to use my remaining 18 Skillpoints for TKM Meditation box 3 so I can heal my wounds (since all the docs I find are buffing and I don't care to wait for 20 buffs to get wound heals, andmost the people levelingMaster Doc are tumble-healing).

As of right now with MC and MS I can slice the terminals with a solo group and get 30-40k per mission. That's 60-80k in one mission run. I haven't sliced my armor but my FT is Sliced. If I wanted to compare these two things I would just say. Will this sliced weapon get me through these missions alone with my armor on, the answer is no. I can't even wear my armor without buffs. So ok I can compare, even if a slice lasts forever it won't get me my millions.

In short charge whatever you want, I've found people complain about my prices and ask me if I think it's high. I say no and they hand me a weapon or two or a suit of composite which I slice for 72k. They may not like it but most will pay.

On the other hand, I do not think a slice, not *any* slice, is worth 100cr/%.

Oh, me? Well I charge whatever I feel like. I don't find customers, they find me. Sometimes it's 5k and sometimes it 10k. I try more often for the latter, because, while Slices aren't worth as much as Buffs in my opinion, I often have a monopoly in the immediate area.

It's always a good time to raise prices.

Rivern, you hit it right on the head man.

And yes, slices are not worth more than buffs in the current state of the game. But if you look at the duration of both modifications it would cost at least 150,000 Credits for a buff which lasts as long as a sliced weapon. Therefore I don't see why 10K for a slice is really that bad. But as long as the majority of us charge less, it'll be slim pickins for slicers looking to find customers willing to pay that 10K.

Anyway at the end of the day, these threads always come back to the same thing.....Charge whatever the hell you all want to charge. Sure, we could all easily benefit from charging more. But since nobody really looks at this the same way, we'll never have enough people to band together to increase pricing standards. Smugglers have already made a decent leap from the previous 3K / 100CR per % point average, whereas now most of us seem to be charging around 5K per slice. Thats good new. But I think that it's going to take another profession/gameplay revamp before we all migrate to even higher prices.

blah blah market blah blah economy blah blah illegal... I don't care about all that.. all that matters to me is that I'm tired of slicing for people.

you say the customer sets the price.. BS I drastically raised my prices, and I don't advertise at all, I don't even wear a title.. just so I wouldn't spend all my time slicing.. and its still all I have time to do.. lesson: charge whatever you want! Economy vs. Market is alll thoery, at the end of the day what matters is the money you bring home, not what 'experts' say about the market.

Another good point. All of you college flunkies who try to turn this into a discussion about economics....SWG has very little application for standard economic principles. The laws of supply and demand in SWG don't relfect the issues in our society. Reason number one.....The money is not real. Reason number two....the vast majority of buyers of ALL products in SWG are younger than 30 years old. Reason number three.....Anyone and everyone can be filthy rich. That's quite a combination.

Think of this: WS pushing out sliced Republic Blasters for 100-200k! Sliced weapons sell very, very, very good...And we get maybe, like 5k for a slice (standard price on FarStar...) And btw: YOU CAN GRIND W-I-T-H-O-U-T BUFFS!!! It goes slower yes,but if I charge 15k for a buff and not sure if I can play in 2-3 hours, why the heck should I buff? And docs earn alot of money anyway...Apart from that, since noone buy spices anymore, what should we do do make money as a smuggler??? FP,yes,slices,yes,spices,no....We dont know when the changes will be in-game..So I feel that the best way is to charge more than the docs for all the (edit) we get.....I still think that a 35% speed slice on a 1.5 speed Scout is alot more worth than a set off buffs! Thats my opininon, you can think whatever you want....

You dont like what I post?
There is nothing I can care less about than that.

Who grinds without buffs these days? I can drop 15K on a doc buff and have my money back within 15 - 20 minutes by doing two missions.

As far as weaponsmiths are concerned.....Well, sure they might make an extra 50K - 100K on a 30%+ sliced krayt republic blaster. But the price difference stems from the fact the the customer is paying for a guaranteed modification. He knows what he's getting ahead of time. Unlike, when they approach a smuggler on the street and they have no idea whether they're getting speed or damage, nevermind what the percentage will be. I guarantee you that the WS isn't selling 2 guns with different slices for the same price.

If anything you're only bringing up justification for charging based on result instead of using a flat fee.

Oh and being on Naritus I did ask Troll and he said that he does sell Sliced weapons when he has time, and he marks them up so high because he thows away all speed slices under 30% and all damage under 25% so he has to make that money up.

While I agree the grind to Master Smuggler is much harder than the grind to Doctor, the actual process of buffing is MUCH harder than the process of slicing (the making of the tools).

Ah... Docs, however, can create all of their tools and components to make its full set of buffs. Smugglers require AUK and WUK that can only be created by Weapon and Armorsmiths. Smugglers are dependent wholly on a separate professon for a necessary manufactured component in the slicing action. We are therefore very exposed to the whims of manufacturing of these goods. Most WS and AS that I know really care less to create them, as they aren't very profitable.
