I think so...Slices last forever, buffs in maybe 3 hours... Is it time for us to raise our prices?

As a Smuggler/Pistoleer:
I can tank Rancors buffed, but without a sliced weapon. Alternatively, I cannot tank Rancors unbuffed, with a sliced weapon. This is analogous to PvP almost directly.
On the other hand, I do not think a slice, not *any* slice, is worth 100cr/%.
Oh, me? Well I charge whatever I feel like. I don't find customers, they find me. Sometimes it's 5k and sometimes it 10k. I try more often for the latter, because, while Slices aren't worth as much as Buffs in my opinion, I often have a monopoly in the immediate area.
It's always a good time to raise prices.

for a dead horse, it sure is taking quite a beating....
chareg what you want, if you wanna run in one of price-fixing gangs, go for it. if you want to undercut everyone, by all means. it's your business, and they're your cutomers as long as you can keep them. the customer ultimatly sets the prices though, consumer demand and all.
you can't compare buffs to slices, they're two different entities and therefore have two different sets of rules when it comes to pricing.

but on the other side i can kill a krayt with an unsliced powerhammer 200 - 400, but i can do it a hell of a lot faster with my dam sliced acklay 360 - 740 with powerup, thereby saving my armor alot of beating

Its very hard to raise prices on eclipse .... there are so many smugglers that run around advertising 100c / % in theed and coronet
Personally I charge 200c / % or 4k a slice for larger orders, which I think is generous compared to what people on the boards charge and most players don't have a problem with my system of slicing. But people are undercutting me and others on our server and an increasing number of players come up to me expecting 100c / %.
I hada doctor complaining to me about how slicing prices have gone up! ... I asked him why buff prices have gone up and he promptly ended the conversation.
blah!!

Ionly made 6k on a 35% dmg slice on a weapon with already +500 max damage. I felt cheated, but I had already given the guy a price and he actually paid me over it.

i charge a minimum of 5k with 1k pr % over 30 that way if i increase the value of a weapon by x3 i get a little more from it. I dont care about it, slicing is Pocket change need a cheap slice go find the Prostitute smugglers in coronet, i have mroe money to make in other ways. As for doc being more work they can effectivly kiss my@$$ have them grind to colonel, having to buy locked containers at 6k or more, grind 2 million pistols XP with no mods.Grinding to master doc NP, jsut have a guildie tumble, set up a macro for crafting can be done in 2 days. Smugglers on the other hand are dependent on the conmunity. Well il jsut wait untill the combat balance comes, doc buffs get nerfed teh crap out of, spices comes back as a valid product, foods take a bigger part, i cant wait to see docs in coronet "buffing for tips". The only reason you can charge 10k or more pr buff is that it makes you able to solo alot bigger missions, if you cant do that then why pay 10k for a buff. When it hits and teh buffs only hit for 1ktoeachstat docs wont have a chance charging as much astheydo now, smugglers on the otehr hand have a revamp coming. As for the need for both, well buffs are always needed in this game, but ask any PvP'er would you PvP without your sliced 95% base comp, and you will get a hell no. same goes for sliced weapons a HArdcore PvP'er will always have his weapons sliced to get an edge. But the only thing getting any sense into hato would be a bullet in the head so..... im gonna leave the n00b to his complaining, and the next time he gets Pwnd by someone with the sense to have theyre gear sliced he can come to me and get his sliced at 5k pr item +1k pr % over 30 and even if it cuts my wallet i will be praying for 11% effect on all of it the entire suit of bone armor

While I agree the grind to Master Smuggler is much harder than the grind to Doctor, the actual process of buffing is MUCH harder than the process of slicing (the making of the tools).
As far as the combat rebalance, what makes you think that buffs will be any less saught after? They will still be the only way to increase your stats, which anyone hunting or PvP'ing will have to do, and if it takes the same kinds of materials to get the best results I'll continue to charge 10k

ok moron i didnt say increase the damage or speed, i said increase the value of the weapon, have you ever seen how much a pre sliced weapon with a 25 - 35% slice go for? Ive seen pre sliced T21 with 25 or higher damage slices sell for 2 - 3 times the price of an unsliced one. Secondly the prosess of making buffs IS NOT hard, buy materials, spend about 15 minutes by a crafting station making a 100 use schematic put in factory its not harder than that. Or you can buy finished buffs like 80% of the docs ive spoken to do, that make's the "hard" work pretty easy dont it? Making buffs is hard if you harvest all the meat yourself, all hte flora yourself and all the minerals needed, but buying materials or finished packs is not hard work. And after the combat balance if buffs only increase my stats by 1000 i will refuse to pay 10k for them no matter the materials, since it will be inpossible to solo high end content with them as it will without them. Face it doc is the easiest way to make money in this game. A ws or as has t ostock up on materials for months before they can actually start making high end weapons, a doc jsut have to go to a vendor and buy buffpacks. If you say doc is hard work your doing something wrong

Are you actually READING what you post? A Doc is easy, but a WS has to stock up? the WS can BUY the resources just like a Doc. Ooops didn't think about that did you kinda makes you wonder who really is the moron. So tell me what Bio-Clothes do you buy to make your slices better? How much did you pay for those bio-clothes? and the chef food that make your slices better, I forget the name, how much did you spend on that? Oooh that's right you can't make slices any bettter it's all random, and people should pay lots of money for the chacne to get crap.
As far as sliced things being worth more, why don't you make a toon on Naritus and ask Troll why he doesn't sell sliced weapons anymore THEY DON'T SELL, but don't take my word for ask him yourself
