Well slicing with the flurry price system on bria worked fine last night, i would suggest all bria smugglers adopt something close to it. Only had one other smuggler trying to argue with about 100credits per % price saying all weapon smiths would use him now and he laughed at me. He had a hard time understanding that weaponsmiths don't want to get crates of weapons sliced so they can sell 4 weapons at a time for people hoping to get that maxed out damage slice.

i agree with the original poster. i am not a smuggler but a grinder. i just happened to stop by the forum looking for a grinding guide. i for one happen to always tip 10k whenever i get a slice. the responce is always: "hey whats the extra credits for"?

i simply reply you deserve it.

basically i dont see to many smugglers spamming because i stay away from big citys and spam hot spots. i usually find a smuggler by using the search feature. you guys are very underpaid for what you provide. i would happly pay more for a slice.

thanks for the feedback, the problem of undercutting will always be there but a simple way to /deathblow it is : if other smuggs charging 100 pr % or whatever see that alot of smugglers charging 10k pr slice they will start to addapt to it, the main reason communism doesnt work is that everybody wants more than the guy next door so if enough smugglers charge 8 - 10k pr slice they wil follow they will want apiece of the pie so to say. Hell if 80% of the master smuggs on my server were charging 15k pr slice i would to, people with complain but after a while its accepted look at the CH nerf they complained but it happened.

what I would like to see for the smuggler is that we get a smuggler trade window like the ID, they put the weapons in the window and they can view the slice, and see how much it got sliced for, and then we set a price like 8k for the slice and they simply click accept..

simple but I think it would turn out good... ppl like to view that stuff.. ID business sure raised up when they got their ID window..

just my 2 creds

the "slicing window have to be different the only hold we have on our "customers" is that "your sh*t is in my inventory" want it back you pay with a window like id we can end up in a stalemate, the customer would have to pay up front the money he put in got "locked" meaning that it cant be removed

I'm thinking of the following price plan

under 20% slice 3k

20-29% slice 5k

30%+ slice 7k

If they state a particular slice-type they are hoping for and I do not get that for them, I will give them a 25% discount. However, this won't be stated up front, only the flat fee. I also won't ask if they are looking for a particular, but if they mention it they'll get the deal.

I figure that even with a discount on a low slice, i'm still making profit. average 2cpu for resources, 90 for a clamp, 16 for a knife, and 30 for a wuk, total of 272credits for all resources per slice. Figure in factory costs for the crates, lets say 500 credit cost per slice. The real cost though is time, as with all things. If I'm gonna hang out in front of a starport and slice instead of hunting, I think my time is worth it. Then the price goes up for the quality of the slice, and down if you don't get exactly what you want. The nice thing though, we can always say irregardless of what happens, we always make things better, never worse.
