One thing I don't understand... in the CU, all the newbie Marksmen pistols are going to Pistoleer. Why? Just to get certified to use an FWG5, you have to be a Master Pistoleer. The weapon officially sucks currently, and you can use it with Pistols IV.
That's just not right.

That is the key there. Things are diffent in the new system. I also like the way the spread the certs out through the trees/professions. You can still "dabble" but gone are the days of taking a single line from a profession and ending up with everything useful out of it.

Yes, but it would be better if it was changed to taking a single line from a profession and ending up with 1/4 useful stuff out of it, instead of taking a single line from a profession and ending up with absolutely nothing useful.

Seriously - this just locks people into Master templates. It's either a bit of an overkill because they wanted to make it different from the current situation (in some professions), or they just didn't know how to design it better.

I need to post the stats of this gun in the TC the next time I get in. I am comparing it's stats to the stats of the other pistols given to me from the frog. It just doesn't compare.

once the scope/barrel issues is fixed. I have my Solo look alike DL44, Currently with the nice krayt tissues, 31% damage slice and a pup. it does like 1.9 70-390 damage. It is my trusty sidearm. And will contine into the CU as my toon is a msmuggler/WS and dont have much for extra points for combat stuff

I wouldn't base the stats in TC on anything that will be in live. Looks like all the master weapons have the same stats. ie the DE-10 (Master Pistoleer) and the Renegade (Master Smuggler) both have a 701 max dam and the other stats are the same except for the wound.

I personally use a scout pistol. I think it has more of a smuggler feel to it in a way, since when you're carrying it, you can barely see it. Easily concealed, fast firing, very fun. Doesn't mean I think it should be smuggler certified only Krayt enhanced scout pistol: possibly one of the biggest waste of krayt tissue I could invest in Just glad I got a damage slice, probably would have killed something if I got speed, thing was already 1.3 :/

Because the new CURB people are, as shown with the new armor certification system, stuck within the default MMORPG 'Paladins use Holy Swords' model, the absence of which was a really refreshing thing in SWG up until now, compared to the other MMORPGs?

I'll have you know that I used a dagger that was meant for shadow damage casters on my rogue for quite some time Mainly because it had the best dps, but hey.

Since everyone seems to hate both system, how is this for a thought: Levelling weapons. Not really like the way they are in some old school rpgs, where the weapon itself actually becomes more powerful, but why not develop a feel for the weapon. It makes sense that a weapon your character has been using for seven seasons would become an extension of the person. Give bonuses based on how long you've used the weapon, with those bonuses still applying to a similar weapon, just fewer bonuses. So if I pick up another scout pistol, I'm still better at it than I am with a DL-44, but I'd still prefer my old one.

I know it ain't gonna happen, but sounds kind of cool, doesn't it?

It sounds cool, although you just know it would lead to AFKing meatlumps for 'weapon' XP. If the (rather amazing for a MMORPG!) ship customizing mechanics from JtL were present in all facets of the game, I'd be pretty pleased too...
