Thread: So whose ready for real PvP...
The only concern I have regarding player BHs is the element of surprise. The BH first strike is the one advantage BHs get, and it's necessary given the average Jedi's power advantage. We don't have this advantage, so it might be necessary for us to have have some kind of warning before being attacked.
Perhaps there could be an option for us to slice the BH terms to see who has our mission. WIth our Underground contacts, it would be fit for us to at least be able to find out who's working for who and what they're after. This would also allow us to buy our contracts out, which would also fit our profession.

I think a smuggler knowing who is after him is a cool idea. I don't think that previous suggestions about letting a smuggler know when their BH is near is all of that great of an idea because the smuggler could hide in a house or something.

I dunno if I'm ready for the space bitDespite my running around overt, I've never seen another single player around overt. Should hang out in DS more often.
Same here.. I'm too lazy now to fly to the space station to go overt or even launch. I burnt out at pilot 4/4/4/4.

Just curious but how many Smugglers are ready for Real Smuggling content and everything that comes with it? Such as smuggling cargo through space, past blockades sneaking past local authorities, getting contracts on their heads for their illegal deeds and having player BH's tracking them down?
Im especially interested in seeing how many Smugglers are looking foward to BH vs Smuggler bounties.
The problem i have is i have a fun template which i enjoy using and i very rarely wear armour or have a weapon equipedbecause why would i when im chilling out in a cantina, yes sometimes i like to go there and chat with entertainers which i find fun.
As a smuggler our skills are largely useless, since we arnt 1.5 times stronger than any other player we may not be able to survive a first strike from a BH, all i can think of is BH walks into a cantina while im chatting away then suddenly BANG BANGincap and db thats not really pvp.
I would be up for it if their was a rp element to the BH - smuggler encounter such as the BH having to capture the smuggler and when the smuggler is captured they are loaded in with the BH to the mission giver where the BH gets his money from talking to the mission giver and the smuggler has several options in order to negotiate with the mission giver which may include paying the mission giver what he owes or doing a mission for the mission giver for no creds.
Im smuggler/BH and feel that we are killers not BH's i would love to have an option to capture, i would love to be able to board ships and capture people, i would enjoy a clean hunt followed by an enjoyable outcome for all people like i suggested by being bought back to the person who issued the mission.
If BH's were able to get bounties not just hits i would be much happier because this adds content to my character and develops who my character is and why he does things being in the middle of something then suddenly getting killed and then cloneis no fun, though being in the middle of something and then suddenly being captured and taken to someone like Jabba who wants to see me because i dropped my cargo at the first sign of a stardestroyer that would be a fair trade off for me to be honest and would feel like i have a story.
I think if smuggler's are going to end up being hunted lets make it a fun interaction not like the system which the jedi have in place right now because that system causes more problems than it solves and i think a capture option does this because it adds content to smuggler and BH, if this was put in game i might actually take some pc marks.
So PVP and base take downs is not real?
Honestly, most BHs have the maturity of a 12 year old. It won't be fun. A few months after it is in place this forum will be as whiny as the Jedi forum. They cant get bounties right with the BH/Jedi wars - what on earth makes anybody think they can get it right with smuggler? Sonys ability to learn from past mistakes?
Let them get it working right in the first implementation, then worry about a second.

A relatively [?] way of doing this would be to have the BH mission payouton incap, rather than deathblow, though I do feel that if the bounty is a 'capture alive' sort, the Smuggler must suffer financially, by way of penatly for poor smugglign performaceand to avoid the dreaded exploit.

Hmmmmm. Most BH's are people like you and me. I detect more whinning from you right now than what I expect to be generated froma BH/smuggler system ![]()
Secondly, the only reason for the LARGE tension between BH/Jedi is because of Jedi xp loss. Smugglers won't have that. Can you imagine what it is like to be beathblown by a BH making you lose a whole WEEK of hard grinding????? That is where the beef is. Believe it.
Thirdly, the actual bounty system works quite well right now. There don't appear to be many bugs holding the system up, contrary to what you say.
