True, it's not really slicing, but it would better be suited by Smuggling since the only place vis is registered is the terminals, I just extrapolated.

It still goes back to what I said before though. They can keep piling on to the Smuggler profession with everything but smuggling and we'll still be incomplete.

In the past there were underworld ideas put together including a new elite profession titled "crime boss" that your idea would fit better with.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

That's exactly the point, for 2 years now they've tried to make smuggler everything but the one thing Smugglers actually want to be... and that's Smugglers.

You're grouping the skills of an entire criminal world under this one profession, when there's no need to. What the game really needs is more underworld, not just cramming more and more into a profession that it may not belong in.

If you look at what we have:

1. Slicing. There's really no answer for why this is here other than the fact that we are the only "criminal" profession in game.

2. Faction discounts and sales. Once again, other than contacts related to smuggling, I really don't understand why this is in Smuggler. To make matters worse, it's the only thing in game that requires a profession to join a faction in order to utilise. This would be better suited for things like merchants and politicians that would actually interact in such a manner. The only thing a smuggler may do would be to bribe his way out of something, instead he's buying favor, but it's not really favor because he's just selling it. Contacts, is one thing, faction discounts and sales is another.

3. Combat skills. These are obviously needed because some day you're gonna piss somebody off with what you're doing and you're gonna need a way to either defend yourself or evade.

4. Jawa mini game. This is an example of why I say first and foremost we need smuggling. They tossed this at us because they screwed us with the language comprehension deal. This is a prime example of why we don't need more "criminal" type of stuff crammed into the profession when we can't even perform the function we're named for.

Looking at what we need:

1. Smuggling. It's the end game for us. Just like bounties is for BHs and hunting creatures is for Rangers (well is supposed to be). A "informational contact" system that would be involved in all of this would be one thing, but it would then actually be related to something we should be doing.

All I'm saying is, we are not the "criminal" profession in this game, we are Smugglers. What we need is more criminal or villainous type professions in the game to pass these types of skills on to. Hell, I would have preferred a profession in game like Slicer that would have taken slicing from us, that BH's would get their bio-sig info from, that Jedi's could get info about themselves from, that we could get fake papers from to better fool authorities when smuggling, etc. There are lots of ways to do it, but I object to cramming more into a profession when it's not what we really need.
