Thread: Jedi breaking feign death

A little research in the jedi forum reveals that this is probably the "heal all states other" skill. It is a master-healer level skill that heals all damage and removes all states from another player, apparently including the FD state. Probably an unforeseen or incidental side-effect of a useful team support skill.

As far as being "unfair" to the smuggler, maybe your feign would get removed, but it looks like you'd get completely healed (battle fatigue included) when they broke your feign. This skill has a high force cost, and you could always feign again. If i were a jedi fighting a BH and I had him beat up and feigned, i'm not sure I would heal him up so he could go at me again...

There is also another force power that does it...

Thats not acceptable then. How canbreaking someones ultimate defense move be done without even incuring a tef. Working as intended is just SOE saying we screwed up and dont give a damn if you like it or not because we arent gonna spend the time to fix it.

We know it's not acceptable, it should all be reexamined in the combat upgrade. We had some serious issues with this admission.

Ok - This is really adding the WTH files fast....

Why can't we get the same type of service the other on-line games are giving? I don't play WoW but my best Friend does and when the Servers went down last weekend due to over-population, the compnay running WoW giveALL (see that, ALL)their people 3 months free, I'm never going to play WoW myself but if the other MMORPG compnaies are added fixes and extra stuff at the time it is needed AND listening to their customers then maybe, just maybe, SWG/SOE should do the same thing. SWG/SOE doesn't listen to us the best testers of the game, won't even go out of their way to show even some little bit of trying, and they don't even hire qualified personel to work their phone and chat lines to help us. It took me going thru 10 people/tires on the lone distance (NOT a 1800 #) before I could actually trouble shoot my system properly.

PLEASE SWG/SOE HELP US, ...PLEASE SHOW US YOU CARE ABOUT US AND NOT A PAYCHECK OF 15$ PER PERSON

Hmm I have to say as a long time smuggler I have no problem with this. From a continuity standpoint it makes sense that a jedi would be able to sense that someone is not truly dead.

Is it fair that a jedi could 'raise' a BH and not the other way around? Not sure on that one. BHs do get the first attack, and a jedi might not even know someone was after him. I'm sure it's frustrating for a BH to track a jedi, almost get the incap, and then have the mark go FD, but no more frustrating than for a jedi to have a BH and his gtef-gank squad pile on and erase 3 or 4 days of xp in seconds. Just my opinion...

So just chime in your opinion. Does it make sense that a BH can check a pulse? You don't need any "special energy field" to see if someone is dead or not... geesh!

Honestly, I don't have a problem with someone Jedi o5r BH's being able to break Feighn Death, I don't like the idea of them having 100% succes at it. I'd rather give them a chance to break it then have them put a timer on it. I however don't like the idea of it just being put into the game without us knowing it, of course if we don't know it, then hopefully everyone else wont know it either. Still, it is one of the few skills which I use to get out of sticky situations when I'm unbuffed.

I maybe wrong but I thought any type of posture UP attack broke feign death or at least it did at one time.

I agree 1,000,000% its not that they are over powered they are jedi after all. Its that there is way, way, way, WAY to many of them. Because of that it does in fact over power all other professions and make the game a Jedi, not Star Wars game. The dev's should have never addedthe professionto the game or at the leastkeptit a perma-death class. Now the dev's are screwed because most everyone wants a jedi and as the population explodes they will have to make them weaker, this in turn will freak all the jedi out. They have put themselves in a lose/lose situation. Is this SWG or Jedi Academe?

The devs probably did it so that Jedi have a way to get Bounty Hunters with a mission on them up so that they can be killed. Doesn't mean I like it, but that's my guess as to why it does that.

SO BH can FD now? not just us?

I hope you don't mind a MBH's prospective, There are 100's of jedi on corbantis using FD until they are powerful enough to solo a BH and now the jedi have a way to break FD, this stinks to me. For one FD is your (smugglers) move and should not be used by another profession, especially one that is already overpowered and when used stops me, the BH, from doing my job. I don't know how you people feel about this but i think a move this powerful (breaks combat) needs moving to master, then if a jedi wants to become a master smuggler, fine, FD till the cows come home.

As a Bh I refuse to use FD, if a jedi kicks my backside fair and square, one on one, fair play. but this week i've not completed one Jedi mission. If there not FD'ing, there ganking.

I believe that if FD is moved to master smuggler it should be unbreakable by another player, it is your skill and should stay that way, just like hunting jedi is a master bounty hunters skill.

Some of us feel a move to master is needed others think a working% mod that makes lower lvl FD almost pointlessmay be theway to go. Others feel the whole skill should be switched from a faking of death to some sort of evasion skill and all are great ideas. Every profession should be able to dabble in others so the game is diversehowever I think we all agree that FD is being abused by the jedi (and BH to a lesser degree), not only is it an easy skill for them to get they are also the only one's who can break it, seems just a little out of balance to me.

I think one of the main problems with this one, and why some are annoyed, is not because we can be pulled from FD - certain Jedi should be able to sense that you're not dead if they pay attention to the ebb and weave of the Force for more than a moment; seems logical to me (whilst thinking about a fantastical setting that is). I think the issue for many (myself included I think) is the question of, 'why do so many things have to be rearranged to suit the Jedi?' I've seen it more than once now. A profession ability that has - let's be honest here - has never really caused any issues or been at the front of anyone's game balance thoughts, is now suddenly a hot topic, filled with nerf cries, defensive posturing, etc, just because the Jedi kiddieshave gotten involved.

To be honest, I don't even remember where I was going with this. I guess it's a vent. Remember that Dug from Episode II, during the Coruscant speeder chase? "Jedi poodoo!" I agree, Jedi poodoo indeed.
