You are going to need something that can look at excel spreadsheets to look at this.
If you see something that I've missed outright please let me know and if you feel strongly about changing the priority I could use the feedback. I was pretty easy going on the priority numbering so it's pretty easy for fixes you feel are more important to have been placed lower than you would like.
I tried to condense some of the issues we have in some spots, so fire away if you are wondering where something might be.
Molecular clamps and Flow Analyzer Nodes are able to be used by a novice to the same effect as a Master. There should be certifications for their use.
I agree with this, However I think this should be expanded upon. Seeing as a novice smuggler can slice containers and without clamps or analyzers this is random, a novice could quite possibly go through 20+ containers and faill every one. At 5-6K a container that can get pretty expensive for a novice and take them quite some time to move up to the next slicing level. Maybe add something different for novices that has better odds without the use of clamps or analyzers but still has some challenge.
This would also work in well with the issue of making the consequences of slicing or possesing contraband more severe, as people would be less likely to posses sliced/contraband. In any other profession the XP goes up as the level goes up, for Smuggler however it is 250XP regardless of what we are slicing but we can't slice certain things until we get a certain level of slicing, this in itself should constitute a higher XP return for the slicing. In any case this is just my observations and thoughts from a struggling Smuggleron some of the issues.
I'll leave the clamp/fan thing as is I think. Certifications do not mean we are gating a novice out of everything but the primary concern is them getting molecular clamps. Most of us acknowledge certifications need to be placed here, how that is going to be done I will leave to the developers at least as far as this document goes.
You raise an excellent point though with slicing experience growth. I haven't even started to think about that, very good idea.
On the previous issue on groups/slicing for them I think I'll add a new category instead of trying to fit it in there as was my original intention.

I am sure he made it himself. Afterall, this is Caylin.
Hey Caylin ... post your complete doclet the newer Smugglers see it
I was just saying that because it looked another doc a saw before.
Anyways, I think Number 24 should be removed. The coolest part of having to deal with a smuggler is, trust. Ironic isnt it. If you could "trust" every smuggler, no one would come back to you for business. Any smuggler could do. I think adding in an option to trade in the slicing window would take away from our profession more then it would add. After all, smuggler is an ironic profession
.

I can see your point, but then that would hurt the newer Smugglers because the long-time Smugglers (such as myself) would get all of the business.

I have seen people spam/steal ... and when a player spends 5-10 mil on a weapon, that is a good way to ruin fun ... and we need to ensure fun for all.
Why someone would hand a 5-10 million credit weapon over to a spamer is beyond me. Just standing in coronet gets me to "tell hell". But anyways, I would never trust a spamer with a weapon of that value.

Very nice. Did you make that sheet yourself or did the devs give you a template?
profession/priority/category/brief description in a spreadsheet form is what the devs have as an example. From there it's whatever the correspondent decides to do with it.
Ryutek quite a while back put together a nice style of that form that is very similar, back before he was a correspondent (Yet he was doing the work).
So taking what was required from the devs and what I liked from the one I saw done by Ryutek, I decided to attempt something that looked even better. I think I accomplished that as this list is not just formatted in a way I like but it is also ready to be printed out. I added another category to help them narrow things down and I think it has turned out fairly well.
While having that element of trust is nice it is not a good thing so long as dishonest players exist. That mechanic that allows us to slice something without trading is pretty much essential in my opinion. I've fought far too long against scammers. Much of my reputation on Bria was based on being an actually honest smuggler who could be trusted with the players equipment. I had long PR campaigns to offset the damage these scammers were doing. I can't tolerate that behavior or the lack of a mechanic to prevent it.
