Look, I'm a Rodian but I have no love for Greedo. I do however, have a love for 'sticking with the original'.
Han shot Greedo dead in cold blood, I for one have no issue with that . . fairplay I say, although technically it wasn't . .
Nothing, actually it's better but since George seems to have a problem with it let them shoot at the same time at least.

I don't want to flame...and I have all respect for every poster here, but it is things like this that set me off.
The star Wars cannon is George Lucas' baby, I guess he can change it whenever he wants reguardless of what we think. Yes he has allowed many authors to add to his cannon via books, comic books, etc. You have to see though...Star Wars is Lucas' vision, no one else's, he has the artistic right to change anything he wants to, especially if he didn't even write it.
Sorry, but this is something I feel very strongly about. I didn't mean for this to come off as a flame, and like I said I respect everyone on this board.

Just as long as he doesn't change way the movies are, then this would be a good Idea.

You are absolutley right, and i agree with you. The problem comes from having to backtrack canon so that everything fits. It also isn't fair to authors who spent time and energy into a novel only to have the whole thing disregarded because George changed his mind 10 years later.
Either way, from what he has said this version won't have any edits just be "3D-icized"tm

And that is the main problem. In the books he approved it was implied that Luke and Leias mother was also a user of teh Force but not a Jedi. (basicly agood version of the Night Sisters from a out of the way planet). Then Poof she iswhat we have now. Same thing with the way to find out if someone can use teh force. The approved version for 10-12 years was only anotherForce user using a mind probe could do it. Then POOF in the new version it turns out to be a blood test.
Then lets not even get into the entire thing about Uncle Owen not wanting Luke to run off after Obi Wan like his father did. WHen Owen is in reality now only Anakins step brother and as far aswe can tell only meteach other the one time as shown inEP II.
Sure it was his vision. But once you allow others in and approve what they have done changing it is just lame. Even more so when it turns into such bad movies. I just hope RoTS will finally be a good movie. I must have hope.

Its Hier to the Empire Trilogy. And the actors are all about 25 years to old. I do agree it was an awesome series.
While it is george's vision, he actually reads the plots and sets rules for these new books to make sure they dont' overtly contradict what is written in the EU. For example, he has rules for dialogue, the fact taht the main characters can not be killed, and in the NJO series, he told the author's to kill the other solo child, Anakin, instead of Jacen who they had planned to do (to make anakin the hero), to avoid any confusion with Darth Vader.
And they never did find Luke and Leia's mother. The good force witches were the fallensee or something like that, and the one just told luke a lie to have him help her find her people. They have never set that family tie in stone, because Lucas intended on telling the story later.
Howerver the rule from LucasFilms is, unless its an infinity comic (an da few other brands), all books, comics, shorts stores that are published by Lucas is canon, until, george steps forward and says its not.

Digital Star Wars, alright. I won't say anything negative till it comes. If it rocks, awesome. If everyone is replaced with radio toting ewoks, bad. Seeing ANH in theaters again would be sweet. And as far as the EU and Ep. 7-9 go,Lucas has had a heavy hand in the creation of the EU and has approved everything that has an EU label. To detract from that would be asinine, it would anger way more fans than Jar Jar with a light saber (wait, maybe not) and it would be unfair to everyone that put work into the EU. It is probably for that reason (as well as his age and the fact that another trilogy would have to wait 10 years minumum) that he does not want to do another trilogy. If he did though, that would be great, as long as he picked the right area within the EU. The GCW and Clone wars were not the focus of the films, it was Anakin and Luke. Anakin's story will finaly be done in may,his training, his fall, his tyranny, his redmption. Anakin brings balance to the force by sweeping the fallen Jedi order clean so a new Jedi Ordercan rise. The sith are also finished in this way. Yes, palps and a few others show up, but they are defeated by the New Jedi. Lukes tale is only half told however. Hesaved his father so he could finish his task and fullfil his destiny, but he was also supposed to pass on what he learned by rebuilding the Jedi. I would love to see the Thrawn Trilogy, or maybe the NJO (kinda split fifty fifty on that one), but those stories do not complete the Luke's destiny. The Jedi Academy Trilogy would fit best here. Yes the NJO oeder could be the end of Luke's destiny (marriage) and the Galxy is completely untied against a terrifyingly powerful foe, but Luke is not realy a Teacher, he is a person holding things together. Now I will contradict myself. My rhetoric is lame but bear with me. The NJO is the only EU material that offers up anything lengthy enough for a new trilogy. It actualy fits perfectly into the mold for a new trilogy. Massive starbattles, threat of annialation, drama, love, Han Solo going rouge, but it does not realy finish things for Luke the way the Lucas set things up. Luke would have to train new Jedi, and he is not really a teacher anymore by the time the NJO happens. He is a soldier like Mace. Just my 2 creds and an Utozz.
