Hehe...my 171 max damage VK's got and 18% Damage slice (at Master). It knocked them up to 201, but a 30% slice could have meant millions on the trade forum.../sigh.
Ouch
Anyway, thanks for the help guys, and I would have to say that Blue Glowies should be exempt from having to read any stickies...
Oh and now that I am a master, can y'all let me in on the secret to getting damage slices every time?
Well, first off, welcome to the club
Now, the trick is, while chanting and praying both ingame and out, to be told by your customer that they really really want a speed slice and that nothing else will do.

The slicing gods like blood sacrifices. *shifty eyes*

Let me ask a new question (opinion type):
Is the bonus you get for slicing at Master 'worth it' for a non-professional slicer. Does Slicing 4 tend to give more cruddy slices than good slices vs. Master which tends to give more good slices than bad?
Its not that a Master will get more of the better slices on average or that a Slicer would get more of the worse slices on average, its that Master Smugglers get a 5% bonus to max slice, and - they get thier minimum slices raised by 5% as well. So a Master crapping out and getting bare minimum on a slice will still be marginally better than a Slicer who has the same happen.

Shrendyc's first rule of slicing - NEVER EVER, no matter what circumstances or temptations, NEVER EVER slice your own equipment. NEVER.
Shrendyc's second rule of slicing - if the customer says "I want a [damage/speed] slice!", hand their item back unsliced, thank them for their time, and move on. People like this have a specificvalue in mind and if you don't get the right number or type, all they will do is complain. Save yourself the headache and pass the grief on to someone who will want it.

I slice my own equipment all the time... I have a few Deals made with Armor and Weaponsmiths for Bulk Slicing.. As 'part' of my Fee for slicing all thier Stock I get to pick a few Items for myself.
My first set of Comp had all 43-45% Enc Slices cause well when you slice 200+ pieces theres allways a few good ones =)
That suit is long since decayed by now, but it was nice to have a full set of Comp that a small Bothan can wear effectively w/out buffs. muahah

Actually Shrendyc, that's not always true. I sliced a UBER (and I mean UBER) Pike for SikFury, and got speed when he really, really wanted damage. He just thanked me, cause he knew it was random. The old players understand it's all random, however, it is nice that they specifically ask for Masters, because they know that our worst is better than everyone elses. Just a thought.
oh, btw, I hate slicing for noobs/jerks, and they always pay me max price.
