- Smuggler Revamp:
- Where we would get actual smuggler content.
- ETA: Sometime after JTL Launch and Combat Revamp.
- Correspondent is optimistic and thinks around February of 2005 as opposed to September of 2005. This is not a time given by SOE, this is a correspondent best-guess given facts and information I have accumulated. Can easily be wrong and probably will be.

- We will not get a revamp any sooner than after the Combat Revamp and JTL launch.
- JTL and Combat Revamp areSOE's #1 priorities at this time.
- GreenMarine - He is working on JTL virtually 24/7and when that workis done, I am told he will be working onSmugglers ASAP.
- Protests demanding an earlier smuggler revamp, etc are not going to get us any closer to our revamp. Don't waste your time with them.
- JTL and Combat Revamp areSOE's #1 priorities at this time.
- JTL is not a smuggler revamp.
- Don't expect your smuggling role to dramatically improve or for that matter exist in the first place at thelaunch of JTL.
- Mechanics are there to allow for a smuggling role in the future, not at release.
- We will have room to grow as the expansion grows and our Revamp approaches.
- JTL kicks ass in many ways, and there is room for roleplaying though we do not specifically have something to do as aSmuggler profession. We will have to wait for that. Yes I'm aware I'm repeating myself, I'm doing it to make this abundantly clear.
- Don't expect your smuggling role to dramatically improve or for that matter exist in the first place at thelaunch of JTL.
- Combat Revamp:
- We do have a place in the combat revamp so many of our skills and role in combat will be looked at and changed.
- Many changes to our skills will take place during the Combat Revamp.
- If it affects combat, it will be affected by this revamp. This includes other skills smugglers possess that have some relation to combat and items used in combat.
- We do have a place in the combat revamp so many of our skills and role in combat will be looked at and changed.
I don't think I've broken any rules with what I've said here, so knock yourselves out.

One dope starts a useless protest, and a hundred or so mindlessly join.
Protesting is about as useful as starting an internet petition. I'm not even talking about petitions just on these forums; I mean all internet petitions. No internet petition has ever accomplished anything even remotely significant, and no SWG protest will ever do any good. The only thing you will accomplish is pissing off the Devs, and that doesn't help us.
Did the credit-dupe-bannings protest do any good? No, not one damn bit of good. Of course, that didn't do any good because those people were too dumb to realize there would be an appeals process, but that's another story

No protest is unimportant, if you have ever bothered with one in the real world you would understand. You are also incorrect that no Internet petition has ever accomplished anything as well. You fight for what you believe in, if others care to join in, they do, and it is their right. If others care to oppose, it is also within their right.
And you my good man, can disagree as that is your right. But I would think that there isn't a Smuggler amongst us who REALLY wants to wait another "so-called" 6 months to be fixed.

First of all, I didn't say that protesting was unimportant; I said protesting in SWG was useless. There is a grosse difference between those two things. No SWG protest has ever, nor will one ever, be a catalyst (or even a minor factor for that matter) in achieving whatever the ultimate goal of the protest is. Again, I did not say "unimportant;" I said "useless," as in "accomplishes nothing."
Second, I said that no internet petition has accomplished anything "even remotely significant." If you protest the local bake-sale online and succeed, then that's great, but that's also not anything significant. I even provided 10 links in my post to petitions that, no matter how many people sign them, will never accomplish anything.
Third, I never said people can't fight for what they believe in, but it's unfortunate when some people waste their zeal in places where it will never be heard by the ears of anyone capable of causing the change these people desire (ie internet petitions).
Fourth, why do you keep telling me what my rights are? I know what my rights are. I am well aware of them, and I excercise them as I see fit. You really don't need to remind me of the freedoms and rights that I have.
Fifth, you're right, Smugglers don't want to wait, especially if it turns out to take longer than they're telling us. Protesting, however, will not cause our wait time to decrease at a faster rate.

I am not talking about having a bunch of people overrun the servers or something stupid along that line. I mean actual thread type protest, and they have worked to a certain degree in the past, if done well.

Yes you provided 10 links, but there are some that have made a difference more than protesting the local bake sale, and I am sure they will become more prevailant.
Third, I never said people can't fight for what they believe in, but it's unfortunate when some people waste their zeal in places where it will never be heard by the ears of anyone capable of causing the change these people desire (ie internet petitions).
Umm the Devs do read the forums, so unheard isn't quite the right word here, wether they choose to do anything about it is another matter.
Fourth, why do you keep telling me what my rights are? I know what my rights are. I am well aware of them, and I excercise them as I see fit. You really don't need to remind me of the freedoms and rights that I have.
My mistake here. What prompted this was your attitude in your previous post, your wording seemed to indicate that people shouldn't protest, so I was just making my point here.
Fifth, you're right, Smugglers don't want to wait, especially if it turns out to take longer than they're telling us. Protesting, however, will not cause our wait time to decrease at a faster rate.
Of course it will take longer than they are telling us, it always has. They haven't been straight with the Smuggler community yet, as we all know from our wonderful thread about it all. And protesting, might cause our wait time to decrease at a faster rate, you could very well be wrong, just like Caylin may be. I'm willing to give it a try anyways. And Ill bet there are some who will join in. It sure as heck won't increase the wait time.

No..... they haven't actually. The Devs have only ever commented on one protest, and in that comment they directly stated that they do not believe in acknoledging petition threads.
Second, I said that no internet petition has accomplished anything "even remotely significant." The bake-sale example was purposely exaggerated. What does it matter if they become prevalent if they don't accomplish anything? President Bush did not look to the internet when deciding whether or not to invade Iraq, and even if he had an online petition site was probably not on his "must check" list. George Lucas will not be reading petitiononline.com to find out what should and should not be in Episode 3, and he definitely will not be using that website when working on the orgiginal trilogy DVDs. "World Leaders," as one user oh-so-intelligently wrote, will not give a damn about an online petition while they're contracting people to slash and burn the Rainforests. Microsoft.... they wouldn't care if you were outside their door with pitchforks and torches. The Devs of SWG? They'll just shut down the cluster you're protesting on if you're lagging the game too badly, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it.
Third, I never said people can't fight for what they believe in, but it's unfortunate when some people waste their zeal in places where it will never be heard by the ears of anyone capable of causing the change these people desire (ie internet petitions).

Sorry, "heard but don't do anything about anyway because they already made a decision based upon what they (in their sometimes warped minds) feel is best for the game rather than what a bunch of people protesting, whom they know a portion of have only joined due to a malicious desire to crash the server (sorry, but it's true, that is the reason some people show up), have to say."
Protesters are, in general, the vocal minority; a fact thathas doomed many protests to obscurity before they even begin. When it comes to protests in SWG, it reminds me of what a friend of mine once said: the idiots always scream the loudest. Again, I point to the protest held after the credit-dupe-bannings; morons protesting something that didn't even have to be protested because they were too stupid to stop and think logically for a second. Oh well, wasn't my server so I don't really care if they want to waste their time and just get themselves more angry over nothing when the CSRs threaten to shut down the cluster.
Fourth, why do you keep telling me what my rights are? I know what my rights are. I am well aware of them, and I excercise them as I see fit. You really don't need to remind me of the freedoms and rights that I have.

But it sure as heck would decrease my enjoyable play time.
And now I am off to bed. In the end, if you want to protest, go aheard, just don't do it on my sever because if you do I can promise you the CSRs will be there in no time flat. Yes, you heard me right, I'll submit a ticket purely to get the protest stopped. Why? Because your protest, which is for the betterment of the game in an attempt to improve everyone's enjoyment and play experience, would beruining my enjoyment and play experience the instant I get bogged down for 20 minutes due to horrific lag both on my connection and my computer (in short: you'd bemaking the game worse for the people you're trying to help). But hey, if you want to waste your time and energy protesting a video game then knock yourself out.

And again if you bothered to read what I said "I am not talking about having a bunch of people overrun the servers or something stupid along that line." then thereare a number of inaccurate comments of yours to me. This was never a suggestion, I am only talking about here in the forums, which is why I said the above before your last responses.
Look fact is I made my original post back on May 5th, and have kept quiet and out of the Smuggler forum since then. Well keeping quiet accomplished nothing at all. I could leave the Smuggler forum again and come back on May 5 2005 and bring it back and then we can argue again about how we should just be quiet and wait.
