My new char is a Master Smuggler/Master Combat Medic/Pistoleer 4000. He's really fun to play in a group, if you like utility chars. I get lots of debuffs from both professions (and warning shot from pistoleer), healing and mezzing. Actually, mezzing works quite nicely when you draw adds on yourself because of the healing, saved my bothan butt quite a few times.

Damage-wise, he's decent when both DoTs are applied (Overwhelming Shot helps before applying them I think). He can certainly hold his own, but not a combination if you like serious damage dealing characters.

DoTs do break Concussion Shot and Panic Shot, so be careful not to apply DoTs if you plan to mezz an opponent.

I can't say how a combat medic compares to a doc, since I haven't had much experience yet, but after Publish 19 my healing power has been sufficient to keep everyone alive when things get rough. I can't say, however, if just a combat medic is sufficient for really tough encounters, like DWB. Check the combat medics forums.

My previous char on Infinity is a Master Smuggler/Master Commando/Master Marksman/Rifleman 3000. The good thing about this combo is that he's a good damage dealer and the area attacks of commando weapons help you apply your smuggler crowd controlling abilities in more than one mob simultaneously.
