Thread: Opinions on complementary professions to smuggler
Does anyone play this combination? Any other possible ideas? I absolutely will never ever drop master smuggler, so any ideas here on what others have found useful will ereally help.

I was considering dropping my entertainer skills and picking up CM as well, so I'm curious to see how smuggler/CM fares ![]()
On a side note, do the effects of Concussion Shot and Panic Shot break if the target sustains DoT damage?
I'm finding that M.Commando/M.smuggler/CM 4000 is a great template if you like being a support person. I can daze entire groups of people with the AoE commando weapons (use an Acid Stream Launcher), and I can heal like a banshee. With a 100 rated medical droid, I heal for 1700 using bacta shot.
It is great for groups that could use a healer and a mezzer. Oh, carry a nice rifle so you don't aggro everything with your commando weapons when you need to hit just one target.

Commandos out there - if I transferred the half tree currently in Pistoleer into 9 Commando skill points, what would be the best option? I'm looking for long range AOE abilities with no DOT. Can it be done?

I would suggest 0002- but you really need 0003 to get that Acid RIfle Launcher. It is EXACTLY what you are looking for- a huge coned weapon with a stateeffect (blind) that won't breack your Panic Shot or your CS when you apply it. Besides, You still have Improved Stopping Shot with 0003 Pistoleer, right?

Now if you ARE set on giving up MBH- M Commando and three lines of Pistoleer sounds really good. Stopping Shot is an excellent addition to the new CS and Panic Shot- Commando gives you the AoE to put the CROWD in crowd control.
On top of that you get THREE lines of specials instead of the normal two lines you would get when you try to combine any other three ranged elite profs.

Im not convinced im going to go commando (no pun intended), as im a pistoleer at heart. I currently think ill just be cm/smuggler with the 0440 lines of medic + fs skills, and slowly drop the 3rd line of medic as i get the ranged speed/accuracy and 2 defense branches.
