Selusa's guide to slicing weapons.
Step 1. Achieve Weapon.
The weapon can be given to you by a customer to slice or you could buy it yourself, or could possible make it.
Step 2. Check for powerup.
If the weapon has a powerup on it, you might as well go ahead and remove it because Step 3 cannot take place while there is a powerup on it.
Step 3. Open Slicing Dialog.
Click on the weapon and hold down your cursor so it brings up the radial menu, goto Slice.
IF there is a powerup on the weapon ( not quite sure on message ) but it will say something along the lines that you may not slice a weapon with a power up on it, remove powerup to slice. The game mechanics may even remove it for you.
Step 4. Attach Molecular Clamp. OR Flow Analyzer Node..
Select the option in the slicing dialog that states applying a molecular clamp or flow analyzer node. Molecular clamp ensures a 100% garuntee that the wire mentioned in next step is correct. Flow Analyzer Node ensures a 75% chance that the wire mentioned in next step is correct, still a 25% chance it will be wrong.
Step 5. Check Message.
Read the message dialog after you apply the MC to understand which wire to cut, red or blue.
Step 6. Slice remaining wire.
After slicing the first wire, there is only one wire left that you can slice, do so.
Step 7. Finished slice.
If you have done steps 1-6 properly, the slice is complete.

If ANYTHING is done beside what is mentioned above, it is against the mechanics of slicing and can be deemed an exploit.
If you do anything besides the above and get a slice, you have exploited. Remember that.

I was testing it with survival knives andcdef pistols yesterday.
Still a problem.
I'm stickying this because I want to ban the mother******* exploiters.

if it only works for ranged weapons that would explain why i never got it to work, i tried it on a whole crate of power hammers and it didnt do a anything different with or with out pup. I thought it may have been server related some how. Although i never get asked to do it anymore so i guess the problem might be more concentrated on other servers.

I let them come to me, and I let them give me the supplies, then I slice the weapons and put the powerups on afterwards. They normally don't realize untill the powerup dies.
Its not like they're going to report me for not cheating...

Leave it to Smugglers to always try and find a loophole
However, for the newer Smugglers ... take the point ... don't do anything 'special' with a PUP (or any other trick) to try and get a 'better' or 'guaranteed' slice.

nope, but they're be able to ask someone else to exploit their next weapon. The aim of reporting is to get rid of exploiters, not to fool them

THe other day I had a customer try to get me to do the exploit slice with a power-up, fortunately, he didn't know exactly how it worked....and I wasn't about to educate them.
He tried trading me the weapon, said "Woops, wait a minute, gotta put a power-up in there." Killed the trade, put the power-up in the weapon and traded it to me. I was so hard as he told me that "You get a better slice this way." As I watched the first line of the slicing dialog read something like "You remove the weapon power-up and..."
He then got a 22% speed slice
He then tipped me 12k for the slice and walked away happy...
