So there still are many people playing this game, then?

Many people still around. The rules of the game have changed. You need slice kits to do the high end slicing.

Most of the action is and the mining outpost too.

I guess what I'm really asking is... what is there for a master smuggler to do now in this game?

Dantooine Mining Outpost is the only populated city on my server...Theed and Coronet are totally empty, as in can't find over ten people in those cities.

Yup, galaxy dynamics have changed.

With everyone JTLing around, Coronet is no longer a transportation hub.

Theed on my server boomsevery day. Tatooine is popular around the common places wherepeople run missions in groups. Kaadara has steady traffic with BHs, and there are always people coming and going on Kashyyyk.

I don't know how I like the decentralizing of the market, but it allows for someone to focus on a specific group. Certainly BHs are a strong backbone of Slicers clientele, so that means Kaadara. Also might be good, since slices are no longer random, hook up with a WS, so he can sell pre-sliced weapons.

I do however miss the social atmosphere that Coronet once had. These days I meet people who have been around for some time that I have never seen. I think that means ppl are keeping more to themselves. I'm nota combat char, so I rely heavily on player interaction to breath life into my SWG experience.

Uh, are you complaining that you can't be a spamming slice monkey in front of a Starport anymore?

If so, I'm glad you're miserable.

Also, there's no bufflines in Cnet, because Docs just go AFK like dancers. And even if they didn't, there wouldn't be lines because their buffs take about 5 seconds to apply.

What is there for a Smuggler to do? Try Roleplaying, or PVPing, or doing some kind of quest, or space flight. Or just wait patiently for our missions that will never ever come. I never once considered being a slicemonkey "something to do."

What i discovered is more important now more than ever is your reputation as a Smuggler. I aint refering to any sort of game mechanic that doesnt exist but YOUR repuation with the player base. Slicing certainly isnt what it used to be and the days of coronet being full of slice monkeys is no existent. Kaadara (spelling) is a good spot on most servers since its full of BH's and lets not forget Mos Eisley. Sure its full of new players but you often get Jedi and BH's hanging out and showing off to the newb's (is it just me or does anyone else really hate the show-offs in eisley). Get a good reputation for slices with a couple of players and word of mouth will do the rest. If you group with an especially good group offer them a discount next time they need a slice. They will come to you get a good deal and then go and tell there friends. Even throw in some spice (free or discounted) since there are still a few players that take it.

Trust me i was in a similier position several months ago and realised that to be a great Smuggler now is all about Reputation and Attitude not about who has the best afk slice macro

Oh and maybe start putting a small Smuggling crew together in preperation for Smuggler missions, i'm praying they make it so you can group and do the missions otherwise whats the point of owning a YT-1300

good luck mate

/agree

slicing for myguild at cost for parts and running around with my tag nets me a ton of business. guildies always recommended me to others and they to their guild etc (and i charge them a whole heck of a lot more). sometimes i log in to 6-7 emails asking for slices and i do it for hours on end. my faction sales are similar.

just about every customer i have who can loot these parts saves them all for me and gets a discount on their slicing. i have not once had to buy any slicing components.

Well I tried to find something to do the other night... spice isn't moving at all anymore, I have my char maxed out (Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer), no one seems to want to buy faction anymore, and I offered FREE SLICES on Dant for about 10 mins.. NO TAKERS! So I guess my only options are: wait for the smuggler revamp (ROFL), start another character (no desire to), or just quit????

Can anyone give me a good reason to continue to play this game? I really liked it at one time, there were tons of things to do??

Spice isn't moving because there's one guy on every server that dumps spice onto the bazaar at a loss and floods the market.

Faction isn't selling because there's A-holes that sell it for 45 credits per point.

Slicing isn't done in bulk any more, and what with ADKs and all, one slice is all a lot of people need. ALSO, nobody wants a free slice, because a free slice doesn't come with the slicing components that cost many many thousands of credits.

Hehe, I have noticed that on Lowca, Theed and Coronet have pretty much become ghost towns. For some weird reason the Miniinog Outpost on Dantooine is the biggest hub for people to travel through. Bestine has become one of the dueling capitols on Lowca as well. Weird, strange, and not normal, but this is SWG =)

Well I must say.. I am trying to adapt to the Post-CU SWG. I can't help but say that I miss "the old days". I did enjoy sitting in coronet and slicing for a few hours.. for the credits and the social aspect of the game. I do miss selling spice. I am currently the ONLY one selling spice on the bazaar on my server...and it is simply not moving.

Iran a few Imp missions last night..it was fun, but I miss all the hustle and bustle of the old coronet, theed, and such. I will try to adapt to game as best I can.
