Thread: Slicing terminals working as intended?

What you need to bear in mind is that power techniques were never intended to be part of the game.

People were supposed to pick two missions, head to the first one, take it out then travel to the next one and take that out. What then happened was that people just took two identical missions near to each other, which is to be expected really. The simple answer would have been to remove the direction indicator on missions to stop people powering through them.

At this point the slicing worked for us.

But when people are hitting refresh to get optimum returns the slicing becomes too advantageous for us.

The best time to campaign about this is when smuggler visibility goes in. Have them change it to allow the terminals to be sliced at any time but a greater degree of visibility is added with each subsequent slice.

Even alone, on adventure planets, you are able to get higher payouts. I don't like the way it works, but I must say that is a reasonable way to stop people from exploiting the system. They should give more chances to get a better missions, lets say 5 pages, until the slicing bonus wears off.

The only way they would alow for multi slice on the terms I think would be for us to lose slicing xp if "caught" by bh, and since not everyone wants to PVP this wouldnt be fair to take away from smugglers that do not wish to gain visibility. Perhaps make it an option with a warning that this illegal activity will gain them visibility but if they wait out the timer it does not raise visibility.

First of all...when you slice a terminal ONLY the first page gets the bonus. You cannot slice it again for the second page. You cannot slice it again PERIOD until the 2 minute timer wears off.

Secondly...if you WERE getting the bonus on EVERY page then that's a bug. Heck I thoroughly BELIEVE it's a bug because I've not been able to slice the terminal on Dantooine since launch (It keeps telling me, "You cannot see that object" Go figure.)
